Glad to see he is working out with someone I don't have to worry about, I think. Work hard, be like Minkah, stay healthy.

If Austin develops this guy into a legit starter in 2021, he should be promoted to DC.

Going to be a battle with Sutton for that #2 CB this year with the loser sliding into Hilton's old role.

Pierre himself said he's been only concentrating on the outside CB spot, so if that's where he is going to excel, all the better imo. I think Sutton is more valuable in the slot. Too smart of a player to just be an outside CB. And I don't like the idea of rotating between outside and slot depending on game situation like some have mentioned before. I'd think that would lead to more communication issues.

Man I hope he can do it.
At least as good as Nelson. Because if not You will have lesser players at every level of our D this year compared 2 last year. Everyone is worried about our OL .
I'm worried sick about our Defense in whole.

It’s really not that herculean of a feat. NFL rosters are made up of 30% of UDFA’s. I don’t know how many of those are starters but the list of top UDFA in NFL history is pretty impressive, guys I had no idea that were UDFA’s.

Mike Hilton was the most example for the Steelers. Can throw AV in there, too.

I think we have the makings of a really good secondary. Brooke as well. Kilometres can play as well. Several of these udfas can also be good down the road. I'm excited about gilbert. Norwood. Acey, Brown , demark, layne, maulet, stinner, wade. Fill that practice squad and team for the future.

Shakur Brown and Mark Gilbert are two other guys I have my eye on although at this point, much lower expectations for them than I have for Pierre but both Brown and Gilbert have a lot of potential.

If they manage to turn Pierre in to a legit starter it would be a huge boost for the team. Haden is probably in his last year and we dont know what Sutton will be like as a full time perimeter guy. They really could do with Pierre being good. It’s great that the coaches are happy with him but it’s such a difficult position to play.

I also hope somebody like Brooks or Brown emerges in camp to play nickel corner. They are seriously thin in the secondary if some of these guys don’t show that they belong on the field.

I’d be surprised if they are counting on either one of those guys to be the number one slot corner this season.

Who’s starting other than Haden then?

He said slot corner. The #1 slot corner role is wide open, Brooks, Gilbert, Brown, Maulet all looking for that spot.

Ideally you want to keep Haden and Sutton outside, maybe Sutton moves when the go in to the dime package.

One of those two. I just think they will find another prospect to be the slot corner.

Yes. I could be wrong and either Pierre or Sutton ends up playing the slot. At this point I just don’t see it happening.

Doubt Pierre is suited to it, and I don’t think Sutton is either considering what they want from the #1 slot guy, they’ll be looking for somebody that can play that Hilton role in run defence and blitz packages. My hope is that Brooks takes a step forward. I think that was the idea when they drafted him, but he is a sixth rounder that was cut last year, then again Hilton was UDFA

Hopefully it all works out and they don’t take a major step back in that secondary

My opinion is that the slot is the easiest CB spot to fill. I think we’ll be fine. Actually hope. Lol

Pierre on the outside, Sutton will handle slot duties to start with. I’ve heard the Brooks to slot rumors, even if true, I doubt he is ready to take slot duties from the beginning of the season.
