James Harrison's comment on Dick Lebeau.

“He is a genuinely caring person. He cares for everybody, one and the same. He is like a second father. I have been around him for a long time and have come to love and respect him.”


A coach can't ask for a better compliment than that one. Outside of the weekly X's and O's I have never heard of a coach or player saying one bad thing about Lebeau.

I'll bet a lot of players feel that way about DL.

 

Hope the new blood can wrap their noggins around James' words. The long in the tooth bunch sure didn't mind playing their asses off for him regardless of the plans being good or not.

 

Rod Woodson damn sure did

 

Harrison's leadership alone is worth the roster spot.

 

That's what I've been thinking before the Bungles came calling.

 

This has been Dick Lebeau's disposition since the making of slice bread wait.....he's not that old.

 

If nothing else Harrison is another Steeler who can show off his work ethic and show the younger guys how much it takes to be successful in the NFL. Also I think he can pass on that you are just not another NFL lb but a NFL lb for a team that has a tradition of excellent linebackers for over 3 decades. It is one thing to be a NFL lb it is another to be a Steeler lb!

 

I think in addition to what you said James can teach these guys some new skill sets too.
