Lebeau and him are probably more close than a ton of biological fathers and sons. It's where Steelers players and coaches go to retire.

He'll likely retire but if he doesn't, he's not going west. He wants to stay close to home and he won't make the mistake of going to another team again.

If you follow him on FB, he's pretty serious about spending time with his sons and isn't interested in playing somewhere that will require him being away from them for extended periods of time. In other words, its Pittsburgh or nothing.

I'm guessing he's pretty close with Butler as well. Maybe not quite the relationship he has with LeBeau, but strong enough so that he'd be here if anywhere.

To me it depends on the money . Everyone has a price . If DL goes and gets a heavy contract for him he will take it IMO.

For the most part I agree he probably wont go , but if the money gets right he very well could .

    Eh, not so sure.
He's set roots here. His wife is a high powered attorney in downtown Pittsburgh and presumably makes really good money herself, so thats going to factor in the money equation. Plus that will also affect wether or not they'd want to uproot and move everyone to Phoenix for a year or two.

    This^

    Money talks, BS walks.
I know he wants to spend time with his kids but if he has a choice of spending that time in a nice warm weather climate with the best coach he's ever had versus no home in the NFL then I believe he plays OLB for the Cards for at least 2 years.
He stays inthe Burgh he will basically be competing for a back up role. Arizona, He's starting. JMHO.

Not for Vet min he want go. Now say DL goes and gets him a deal worth 4 million or so. He came out of retirement for less than a mil not to far fetch that he might go to Arizona for 4 times that amount.

It take his wife 8 or 10 years to get that,, she be like get your old ass out to Arizona and get me my money. lol

Well I guess then everyone DOES have their price. Of course he probably would for $4M a year. And if they offered him $10M year, the wife would probably take a sabbatical and move and transfer the kids and everything too.

But being realistic, he's not going to command $10M year. Nor will he get anything close to $4M a year either. What is vet minimum again? $1M? If he gets offered double that I'd be surprised and I don't think that would be enough. Follow the guy on FB, he really does seem content spending time with the kids. I believe hes financially set (he's invested in commercial real estate) and his wife is quite the earner too. I don't think that there is a realistic price that would lure him out of Pittsburgh.

he's also an ohio boy, right across the boarder, so it's not just the wife and kids. his whole family is there. he's made a lot of millions playing football so it's probably not all about the money at this point. yes DL was his coach but so was butler for his career here. he can still be friends with DL from here and there is a lot more here than there.

Money can make people do all kinds of stupid things. Besides, if that's the only job he can get, he might very well take it. Some players can never let go until there's no more job opportunities. Plus, if Arizona plays a 3-4 similar to ours, he might be productive out there.

Arizona isn't going to pay anything that would persuade JH into going there, he's a 37 year old LB.

He doesn't have to uproot his family. It's not like Cards are asking him to live in AZ all year for 20yrs. He'll be there 5-6 months tops, and maybe makes $2mil. So the old lady makes good money? Fine.

But I ask you this: you come home and tell your decent wage earning wife that you can make 5 times her annual earnings in 6 months, the only catch is you'll be away nearly the whole time. What do you think she'd say? For a huge portion of us the answer would be something like this: "How soon do you leave?"

They have a pretty good defense. Would he really be an automatic starter there?

to the red statement: so JH is gonna play OLB till he's 40?

to the blue statement: JH is competing for a back up role on a team with a weak defense and a hole at OLB, and he's gonna start on a team that had one of the best complete defenses in the league last season? idts.

IMO I would seriously be shocked if JH plays in the NFL next season on any team.

Be weary of any woman that doesn't want you home 6 months a year. She's not sitting home making apple pies.

    Maybe.
But you must not follow or pay attention to his FB posts. It's pretty well documented that thru FB and thru the local media that he's very happy spending time with his kids since he missed so much of their lives playing football. His stint in Cincinnati helped him to realize this.

There comes a point when money isn't everything. Not only has JH made tens of millions of dollars, he's got a (young) wife that produces a pretty large revenue stream and will probably do so for decades. Just think about that alone. Most NFL wives are stay at home MILFs who at most do volunteer or charity work. They are a net drain on family finances. He's got a wife who not only has a job, but is a very strong earner. I could be wrong, but IMO unless he's offered some insane amount of cash, he either plays in Pittsburgh or stays home with the kids.

In fact I'll bet you 20 Internet dollars that this is the case. ;)
