I was just coming to post this. We'll see if JH will take a reduction. Personally, I believe he will.
So, you guys can't see the article?

The Steelers have have been discussing the contract situation of James Harrison with his agent, Bill Parise, to try to reduce the linebacker's salary cap hit for 2013.
Harrison, who will be 35 in two months, is scheduled to make salaries of $6.57 million this season and $7.575 million in 2014 in the final two years of his contract.
Parise did not say if those discussions include a request by the Steelers for a reduction in salary or a restructured contract that could spread out the salary cap hit this year with an extension that neither side would expect to be fulfilled.

“We’re talking,’’ Parise said. “Both sides want to try to do something. We’re trying to common ground.”

Sounds to me like James' agent came out last month with the hardball, no paycut, talk, and James has told him he wants to be in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh made him rich. Gave him a chance. He sounds like he has a soft spot. Let's hope. Get it done.

Maybe Lamarr will take a paycut. He ain't no James Harrison. Feared. Intimidator.

I'm not worried it will get done on NFL Network they said he wanted to retire as a Steeler so he will work with the team. They need to give him a incentive laden deal.

    Agreed.

I don't remember his agent ever playing hard ball. Didn't he just say something like, "We want to stay, but do we need to take a pay cut to make that happen? I don't think so." That's about as soft as it can get for an agent, outside of saying, "I can't wait to take a pay cut." Which probably doesn't happen very often.

Right, all he said was 'He's a bargain.'...'I don't think he needs to take a pay cut to stay a Steeler'. That immediately translated to the media and the masses as 'James Harrison absolutely refuses to take a pay cut.'

His agent's job is to get and keep the highest deal he can, so of course he's not going to publicly say, 'before the Steelers contact us about Mr. Harrison's contract, I want to let them know that if they want to make an offer that would normally be considered insulting, it's probably something we'll jump on. Oh, and I suck as a negotiator.' :lolol:

With the greatest defensive play in Super Bowl history, I believe we should give a little if he can still get the job done! And thats heavy on if he can still do the job!!
