I don't recall seeing Conner getting hit in the head, but I'm guessing it was precautionary and subtle. Ben's hit by Reid looked like he should have gone into the tent for evaluation, but didn't. On the field Ben appeared fine after the hit so I'm sure that played a factor in not sending him in.

Samuels looked good. He's still a little green, but he could turn out to be Pegram/Sproles 2.0... and damn good backup to Conner that would nullify the need to draft another RB in '19.

After he came back in game, he got whacked backwards by a linebacker and never returned.

I think earlier in the game he got thrown down and bumped his head on ground.

I agree. It was in the second quarter. He got up slowly after a tough hit.

For those defending the coaches and medical staff, Conner showed enough signs of a concussion to go into the tent twice and now he is in the protocol. They clearly missed something during the two trips to the tent.

Definitely agree as the NFL is so concerned about concussions yet he went in the tent twice.Actions speak louder then words and the medical personnel in the tent didn’t do their job!If not sure always error on the side of caution. When a qb gets sacked they have no problem error on the side of caution!

Are you sure they missed something? Or did he have another hit after the two trips to the tent that made Tomlin say that’s enough?

Either way, it doesn't seem to be something that can be diagnosed in a couple minutes under an ice fishing tent on the sideline. The coaches and fans want the players back on the field asap, but also don't want them to suffer in the future because the sideline evaluation wasn't thorough enough. Maybe that will change as the science advances. Like you said, who knows.

For what it's worth I am shocked that after the Reid hit Ben wasn't evaluated or even held out a play.

Ben wasn't a direct hit to the head, Reid may have grazed him in the helmet.

This is what I was referring to when I posted there needs to be a more thorough process, or more stringent guidelines in regards to when a player needs to be evaluated.

Grazed? His head hits the ground pretty hard (IMO).

Reid could have easily avoided the collision and just touched Roethlisberger down, but he wanted to get in a hit.

Reid barely hit Ben but he was ejected for the intent and how serious that hit could have been if it was a fraction of a second different.Keep that up Reid and you’ll be sitting at home with your buddy in no time!!

Hey a Packer was ejected last Sunday for a slap across the the face mask.
I totally expected Reid to be thrown out.

Would not hurt my feelings at all. Just to be clear I want JC as the #1 guy but to have a fall back like LB will be nice.......SB nice, imo.
