There are some coaches who a just position coaches or coordinators.
Frank Reich would be on my radar as offensive coordinator.
    Along with several others.
I don't trust Petrino...... at all.

Everyone is saying I don't trust....Hell I don't trust anyone I don't truly know, but let Me ask You this.....
Name Me one Qb...running, or pocket that didn't look better with Him(B.P) calling the game, and with a rookie Qb....Well that's all I care about.....plus .....I bet Bobby would be cheap at OC....just for a chance at redemption....

    You do have a point..
But "I don't trust" = I don't think the players trust (buy in)

I don't particularly think this 'on the cheap' is a good argument. I doubt he comes cheap.
I do think this resume is ok.
I would need to compile my list of college OC's... not sure If I entirely agree Petrino is the best but would agree he has been good.

Bobby Petrino is an A+ slimeball and I don't want him anywhere near my organization.

Oh I read what you said. I'm just saying no way I would take him. He's very good but he's also very good at leaving you in the middle of it all.

I think he gets at least several interviews for HC with all the openings coming. Indys problems were far from his inability, maybe steps back and takes an OC job for a year to clear the air, but somebody will give him that shot.

I would rather the Steelers hire a trash can. At least the trash can would be an upgrade in class over Petrino.

Or you could just admit your wish for Heupel to join the steelers as a coordinator is a pipe dream and would never happen

Canada has another year on his contract

Have the Steelers ever fired a top level coach with time left on his contract

Like Wade Philips, you want him as DC, not HC, because he is too conservative since that is typically the nature of DCs not wanting the offense to make mistakes.

LoL. He did that to a team once, and they didn't tell Him their Qb was on His way to prison before the fact.
I also think He's a slime, but a very good offensive, and cheap slime.
I guess slime only counts for certain people....because I've seen Haleys name brought up many times, and I've heard some pretty slimy stories there.
I believe Your true Atlanta Falcons colors are shining through. LoL

You're being an Arkansas homer, I doubt any NFL team would be interested in hiring him in any capacity.

It's looking like Josh McDaniels is just an OC, and not HC material.

No....seriously...I hate....hate...hated Him as a Head Coach. Although He has a terrific offensive mind....just go look at the Qbs He has worked with.
Almost everyone of them had their best years with Him.....even Lamar Jackson. He's done it with scrambling, running, and pocket Qbs......plus I bet He would jump at the chance for cheap....not many Offensive Head Coaches in college would come to the NFL now to be a OC....they want to be HC, but I bet He would just for another chance.....I'm not saying it must be done....just was thinking about it for our Qb.

Some people don't seem to care what others post. Some are just out to try and tear others down.

I like that you are thinking about the OC. I don't care for Petrino because of how he's handled himself in NC State, Atlanta Falcons, etc. It feels like if he were to be brought in, he might screw it up off the field some how and end up getting ousted as quickly as he came in?! I don't know.

June Junes is a great offensive mind and QBs guy! So is Jeff Tedford, yet both are getting up there in age.

I think a lot of this decision should be based on the personnel we currently have and trying to marry a good fit (for both OC and players). Example: bringing in a West Coast Offense type guy (Shanahan or Lefleur assistant-Which are from the Bill Walsh/Don Coryell tree), that would be a very different fit (it might work but it would definitely be different from what this offense has been built up to at this point). That doesn't mean bad! Just different. Yet, if you bring in a guy who's; run first, multiple TEs, use playaction and more RBs/TEs in the passing game, grind it out with T.O.P. drives, would that work with our current personnel? All I can say, is that a new guy who specializes with the QB position and isn't afraid to take some risks (when needed) and tries to spread the ball out to talent (sometimes in unusual ways-fly, double pass, shovel, etc) but is not afraid to go with what's there (what the defense is giving; slants, hitches, bubble, outs) would be a breath of fresh air to me. Others may disagree and that's cool! I just feel, this white knuckled, forcing the ball downfield when the running game isn't working approach isn't working. And asking a poor O Line to try and pass pro a 5-7 step straight dropback....is definitely not working!
