1.) As many of us said at the time of his drafting, Davis is "OK" at some things, but not great at anything, including coverage. (I am not basing this on him being torched by Gronk; who doesn't get fried by him?) The guy is a liability in coverage, and even his tackling (supposedly his strong suit) is hit or miss. He makes a few big hits, but also whiffs and misses tackles far too often. And instead of improvement, he seems to be regressing. But because this is the Steelers, they will take years to address this, not wanting to admit it was a bad draft pick.

2.) Bud is not likely to ever live up to draft status. Yea, he had one sack yesterday but only 2 tackles. Those are not Greg Lloyd, Porter or Harrison #'s. I don't think he will EVER the production of stud Pgh OLB's. He simply lacks instincts, and if you do, it doesn't matter how big or fast you are. And forget this nonsense about how the game is different explaining his lack of stats; tell that to Chandler Jones, Joey Bosa, Suggs, Ingram, Von Miller - all OLB's still putting up tons of sacks.

3.) Speaking of instincts, Ju Ju has them. He has good size but no one thought he had the speed to do what he is doing so early in his career. There are certain things I am happy to be wrong about and drafting him when they did is one of those things. He was a great pick.

4.) We may have been too hasty on claiming Bryant now sucks. As we saw yesterday, if you allow him to run the right routes, and can still be very productive. Just let him run deep routes and trash the bubble screens and reverses.

5.) When Haley calls the plays, we suck, because he sucks.

6.) Our coaching staff in general seems to lack the ability to make adjustments, and it cost us this game. Leaving Gronk in single coverage with Davis all day was beyond moronic. Hoodie doesn't let ego or stupidity to refuse to make adjustments; it's why Hoodie has won 5 rings and Tomlin only has one.

    1. Sean Davis should not be a SS. He might be a better FS. Maybe we move him back to Mitchell spot but he might not make those "last line of defense" tackles.
    2. Bud is the next "jarvis jones'. Maybe slightly better but we use our OLBs different than those other teams. In Bud's defense, he is in coverage a lot more. But he is just a "guy". His 5th year option will probably not be used.
    3. JuJu is a great addition. But I don't think he is a true number 2 or can be a number 1 Wr. But we'll see.
    4. Bryant had a pretty good game but disappeared in the 3rd and 4th qtr. Not sure if that was play calling or he wasn't getting any separation. He still is not worth another contract or not trading if the right offer comes about.
    5. Haley is a head scratcher.
    6. They made significant adjustments in other games and was a better second half team that just shut down opposing teams.
Their butts got a little tight in the moment and was afraid to make them this time. But after the first two passes I would of had Sean Spence with underneath and Davis with over the top coverage.

#5.... how does anyone here ever know who calls the plays? We are just fans on a message board, not offensive insiders.

That's true, but wouldn't it make sense that the OC has a lot to do with the play calling...

    LOL

No, but definitely up to him whether he's a lousy after-the-catch runner or not. Dude can't run horizontal or in traffic.

But props to him for the first half of the Pats game.

I am a Bryant fan by no means but was happy as a pig in poop when he actually dove and caught the ball.
That's what I want to see out of a wide receiver not waiting for the ball to land in his hands.
And that one-hander was pretty sweet too.

Its pretty apparent that when Ben is in no huddle we (mostly) walk up and down the field. I think it is safe to say who is calling he plays when he is not. Haley (as said above) IS a head scratcher.

I think the OLB's are more responsible for coverage otherwise we would be seeing more of Harrison as many articles have suggested so I give Dupree somewhat of a pass on not putting up big stats.

JUJU is only going to get better as he has the entire season.

I had big hopes for Bryant but he continues to disappear. I believe he may still have one more year on his contract but he seems to be playing to not get hurt in hopes of getting paid soon.

The rest I pretty much agree with, although i don't think I want Davis as the last line of defense..

I hope Steelers can beat the Texans. They can't lay an egg on Monday or it's gonna be #3 seed and one and done in wildcard weekend.

It’s up to him what kind of player he wants to be.
Does he want to honestly work hard on and off the field?
Does he want to be a team player?
It’s time for him to man up now that Brown is out.

It's easy. All the successful plays were called by Ben at the line, all the failures were sent in by Haley. At least that what Ben hints at.

When you say it’s time to admit some things... aren’t these things that have been said pretty much all year?
