No, I'm not here to tell you that the Steelers are going to turn this thing around and we're going to make the playoffs and be a team to reckon with... But I am here to say that it's okay that we're not going to.

I was at the game last night, and I really just started to realize how badly we were outplayed, and I know people get mad, but it's because you have high expectations, and the truth is this team just isn't that good. I was upset last week because I thought we should've beat Tennessee, but we're not better than them. Even though REBUILDING is a dirty word in Pittsburgh and Tomlin and Colbert won't admit it... we are absolutely rebuilding.

That's the price of success. For every team, and we've beaten that rule for a while now. Look at the Patriots, Giants, Saints, Chargers, Colts... All teams that have been VERY good for the past 5 years that suddenly are losing ground to the Seahawks, Broncos, Niners, and yes, Bengals. It's how parody works, and we're not immune to it either.

I'm most upset that we're wasting precious years for Ben and Polamalu, but I'd rather see us take our lumps now and hopefully make another run with Ben. I'm encouraged by our most recent draft class. Jarvis Jones already looks special. We'll see about Bell. Wheaton needs some time, but he'll get there. And Shamarko is seeing a lot of time. That's great... I think we need to get those young guys as many reps as we can now, while we can afford their rookie mistakes.

Our OL, while bad, is so young. They'll learn from their mistakes. I think that our best course of action is probably to grab a true LT in the draft next year (we'll likely be in or near the top 10). Then move Adams to his true position on the right side. Gilbert, I've seen enough of. I think we let Sanders walk (he's just a guy).

Once you accept that this team is a bad team, but that we're working to get better... You'll rest much easier.

    It's not OK.

Was it OK when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Like you mention. This is the price of success.

I think the problem is that when you a re "rebuilding", typically that implies that you have young talent to rebuild around. I just don't see that with this team, certainly not the oofense. Not one skill guy on the entire offense is going to develop into a top 10 at their position in the league. Not one. That is bad news. What this O has shown me is that Miller is by far the MVP of this offense. Without him, they are garbage. As I feared, Anotnio Brown is a #2. Period. Sanders....meh. line. please. Tough to rebuild around avg players with poor coaching.

We have had a very good run the past 10 years. Actually, you probably could call it 20 years. But in leagues built around the DRAFT, sometimes your talent is just whittled away. After our worst season in 2003, we were able to draft Roethlisberger. That worked out nicely. While I would never hope the Steelers lose, there is always a silver lining come April. Maybe a couple of Top 10 picks is exactly what this team needs. As I have stated before, we swung for the fence and loaded up contracts and it worked out pretty well. I think there are going to be really tough cuts coming up ahead, even moreso than those we have already made. All I know is, this team is in desperate need of ELITE players.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I think we have a lot of young talent on the defensive side... Which will allow us to address needs on the offense.

Antonio Brown could be a very good receiver, but I still don't think he's a #1. He's a very good #2... Markus Wheaton and Derrick Moye have shown flashes. Pouncey, DD, and Mike Adams are solid. Adams def. has work to do but like I said I think he's a RT, not left. Le'Veon Bell remains to be seen. Paulson, even though he's in the doghouse right now, and is probably never a starting TE... could be a really good pass catching specialist.

Sure, there's issues, but I see some good pieces too.

I'm not sure. I'm not as anti-Tomlin as a lot of people around here. His Tomlin-isms annoy me, but I try not to put too much blame on any one person. I'm actually starting to wonder about Colbert more than Tomlin... Not drafting well is the root of all of our issues right now, but it's also a lot harder to draft well when you're picking 25-32 year after year. Even the almighty Ozzie Newsome who so many love to drool over has had some BIG busts lately.

I give Tomlin through the 2014/15 season before I think about firing him, personally.

And I thought Atlanta was crazy when they moved up the draft to take a WR. We need to that and get a legtimate LT and we can be alot better.
