I say since Cowher brought Butler here that if he does good it is because he's one of "Cowher's players". LOL.

I just hope that this spells the end of the 10 yard cushions. I really want him to have fresh ideas but when you are groomed so long under what other call a master of defensive scheming then he will tend to bring those attributes along naturally.

I wouldn't count on that. It should still be a mix of man and zone.

Congrats coach...now lets see what you got!

I read in an article and I didn't know this but BEFORE Butler was with the Steelers him and Tomlin coached together in college some so they have known each other for quite some time.

But no matter who was hired certain people were going to ***** and moan about it because no matter what they do it won't please them. Who cares who has ties to the team before Tomlin was here...so freaking what? If they feel he's the best for the job then so be it! Some of the fn people around here! SMH

Looking forward to seeing what Coach Butler can do to restore Blitzburgh. I'm sure he'll bring his own unique schemes to the table and will try to separate himself from the familiar schemes of LeBeau.

This is actually a feel good story about a loyal assistant coach and a classy organization. It's the way business should be done but, unfortunately, isn't always. He paid his dues and played second fiddle when he could have been running his own defense somewhere else.

Looking forward to hearing him get on his guys in that deep south drawl of his, "you got to brang yore feet to the tackle, boy!!!"

Next man to go will be Kevin Colbert . So in that spirit it's FKCI. Sounds almost like a curse word.

Now fix the defense, in the last 2 seasons the Steelers have given the most big plays in the AFC I think it's 40 yd plays.

I was speaking about Todd Haley, the guy we hired. Not Dick Haley. So the answer is, "He was a fan."

And yeah, that probably had tons to do with why the Steelers hired him, as per your implication.

what the hell does this mean?

I read they worked together at Memphis in 1996

    SO
your point is that Butler has been with the Steelers 3

3 WHOLE YEARS LONGER THAN MIKE?

    IS THAT YOUR POINT?
