So when do I cue up Dark side of the Moon? When Ben snaps the ball or when he throws it? Does it prove that Han fires first if I do it right?

Non Steeler related, but for me, you can cue that up anytime. My all time favorite.

I have a master disc of that from the original recording.

So we did we start allowing patsy fans in here???

He caught the ball and controlled it.... Pulled it in.... Went to his knees then extended it back out for a second move over the goal line... Once it crossed the line then TD.... Left hand came off and right hand stayed on and under it.... Possession was established and true Steeler fans Know it!!!

    We were Robbed!!!!

That is from 7 years ago so there may have been some changes. You could start by googling the changes in rules for every year since. Or finding the PDF version of the book for each year and usually within the first few pages will spell out the rule changes.

Im not doing the work, Im exhausted. What Cajun said ^^^

Careful..you are going to upset the Patriots fans on this board who are so giddy with a Steeler loss that they have to share photos of it.

    Nice try Blast!
Here is Mike Periera himself breaking down the play. He states he immediately knew it was incomplete. He does a nice job of explaining it here. I would recommend everyone confused and interested listen to his analysis. :thumbs up:

@TerribleTowelFlying@TerribleTowelFlying can we delete the Pats fan? Notice the date he registered, the content of his posts, and Bostonian "EVA" accent. Thanks!

People can smoke their pipes until they die of emphysema. The result of the play is......................11-3. It's not going to change!

    Good call, Bobby.

I was going to say more, but it probably isn't for public consumption.

.......and if he was touched one inch shy of the goal line at that point and then fell into the endzone with no bobble.....where are they spotting the ball? .......exactly just shy of the goal line . That's why it was a CATCH! You can be sure it wouldn't of been a so called continuation surviving the ground load of crap....

I've seen the YT cip and hear his explanation but it still doesn't sync up with what is written. Ultimately I guess it comes down to interpreting when initial contact ends and that's not in the rules. By my standards and a lot of others who agree with me too (including Ed McCaffery and Brian Billick who aren't just random fans), making a separate and deliberate move signals the end of initial contact. It really is common sense and consistent with a defender touching him down. The other way of interpreting it, the way that the league has chosen to, ignores the reach like it didn't happen. That's bizarre and inconsistent to me.

....or if he still does bobble it and it hits the ground, it's at the one inch line. And that's where the leagues ruling is inconsistent. To be consistent, that would have to be an incomplete pass too. I made this point earlier.

Not that this is my argument, think it was moot by this point. Or if you are Joey, the point is moo.

Irrelevant other topic (agreed the ball was on the ground, agreed that it was probably not indisputable given the rules and the time you're supposed to have to review a play - nothing changes it and the AFCCG in Foxboro may now be a forgone conclusion)..... somewhere along the line years ago, I saw a play where a receiver caught the ball as he was fading out of bounds with no way to get his feet down. But with presence of mind, he flipped the ball backwards to a teammate who was inbounds and the interception was allowed.

The irrelevant question.... if you can't possess the ball, a lateral should be impossible. Shouldn't that be an illegal batting?

I know it doesn't matter.....but neither do a lot of things.....

To be an illegal bat it the ball has to have touched the ground(a fumble). What you're describing is a tipped ball.

Just wanted to show what a catch used to be in the NFL. For the record, I didn't think it was a catch then and still don't today. There would be no question that that's a non-catch by today's standards.
