While I understand your points, I don’t understand what your expectations about other seasons have to do with how you feel about this season. Enjoy every season for what it is. And be upset next year if appropriate. But in the meantime, this season is great fun

Was that actually a planned fake or was that Berry panicking when he saw the rush coming? I just finished watching on Game Pass, so I haven't heard what anybody had to say about it after the game.

 

Oh I'm not upset this season at all. Once Ben went down, so did my expectations. No AB, no Bell, no Ben. I didn't expect us to even go 8-8. We've had more success than I thought we would. I think it's great. My point was really about being referred to as a hater. Nobody "hates" Tomlin because of this year, it's all the previous years that are why we feel the way we do towards him.

 

Yep, I'm impressed all around with coaches and players, with what was a season that many were ready to write of as lost after game 2.

 

It was planned. Tomlin mentioned in his presser that he thought it was the best option based on what he had seen with Arizona's schemes.

 

Yeah and maybe Tomlin got as much out of those teams as he could?? Especially when we break down why those teams loss in the playoffs.

No matter what happened or the disappointment that people felt it still doesn't change the fact that Tomlin is a good coach.

Tomlin said he called the fake punt, then in Berry’s interview he made it seem like it was called off. Sounds like maybe a communication issue...

Quite true. A good defense goes along with a ball control offense rather than a high scoring one. Maybe it will be back to the days of “Move the rock and burn the clock”. Going back aways, Steelers teams have won by not giving the other team the ball to play with. Those were not big comeback offenses though, if they were down by much it was hard to come back.
I think the new direction of the team is an intelligent response to the personnel they have.

 

Tomlin's record vs sub .500 teams says he didn't get all he could out of those teams. We played down to our competition constantly. We let backup QB's light us up regularly. So no, I don't think he got all he could out of those teams, in fact, I think it's the exact opposite.
