It’s official

With the win today We are at 8 wins. Congratulations to Coach Tomlin and the Steelers for making another year without a losing season.
This is something we should all be proud of.
Here we go Steelers!!!!

Tomlin does it again. Granted, he has not been perfect by any means. That said, he has overcome quite a bit this season.


The fact that the Steelers are still in the playoff picture is nothing short of incredible.

 

Yes major accomplishment given the losses and injuries this team had to over come. It's nice to control your own destiny and be in the hunt for the playoffs.

 

If only we had big Ben. Maybe we would have gone 9-7

Kudos to the Supreme Leader and Kevin. We are not worthy!

 

When we were 0-3 and Ben went down, I don’t think anyone called this.

 

Now tied for the 2nd longest streak with Don Shula at 13 yrs to start a career one behind the record of 14 yrs by Marty Schottenheimer.

 

Thats for sure but the best team we have beaten this year are the 7-5 highly disappointing LA Rams with Goff at QB

I was about to say what a great game he had before that fake field goal. And even after that, I was like, eh, he is a gambler, Steelers D is good, it's cool. But the bubble screen was REALLY bad. Last week he didnt tell the punter to wait til he let 30 more seconds off the clock before punting. These little things can cost you if you make the mistakes against good teams.

 

I have visions of SteelerGlenn as a kid walking around with a stick poking hornets nests

 

I have to say I had figured the Steelers for 9 wins before Ben went down. If the Steelers actually get into the playoffs with this patchwork quilt of a roster, Tomlin is coach of the year as far as I am concerned. They have backups of backups and people I never heard of playing, and are somehow winning.

 

Every team we beat is an NFL team.

 

Bengals are debatable

 

Well no wonder the kicker took off running. Who ever heard of an 80 yd FG?

 

Okay and every one of the losses could of gone the other way against the leagues best teamd.

 

Don't worry. Every commentator for every game going forward will continue to remind us that Tomlin has never had a losing season

 

Yeah but according to many on this Board, every season the Steelers don't make it to and win the SB.............is a losing season.

 

That’s true the only two games this year we got spanked was NE and Cleveland

 

This game swung it for me. This used to be the one where Tomlin would choke. Not this time ! Now we need at least one more.

 

Ugh, i guess Tomlin isn't the worst coach of the bunch -.-

It's not about being a hater, it's about expectations. I had low expectations this year. We've already exceeded them. Previously years though, with all the talent we've had, I expected far better playoff success. I expected to beat the bad teams that have beat us. I expected crappy QB's to struggle against us, not have career games. I expected us to come out ready to play in the 1st quarter. I expected us to come out prepared after our bye week.

All those years, the team didn't live up to those expectations. It's not like I expected a SB every year, I didn't. I expected us to play up to the talent level we had on the team. We often didn't do that.

So quite frankly, why should I give a **** that we don't have a losing season when we have about a 0% chance of winning the SB this year? I like winning. I have enjoyed all 8 of our wins, but I enjoy SB's more, and I enjoy coaches that produce SB's. We should have had far more playoff success than we have over the years.

So if that makes me a hater, then so be it.

I expect Browns fans to be happy with regular season success. Steelers fans should want playoff success, and while that's not a realistic expectations this year, in previous years it was.
