Is Tomlin simply the product of a great organization with an elite quarterback?

What POs me the most about this FA thing is, I prefer to read the boards and the past several years fans have been posting many FA they like. None were ever taken and some were not real high priced. Had any one or two of these fan ideas been done you would be watching PIT next week. Haden was clearly a no brainer and made a big difference but was just not quite enough.

You know, when the fans seem to know more than the suits something is wrong.

Well it did lead to winning in 2005. And even though I never checked it until last week those fans who were saying 2008 was Cowher's team were right. Not one D starter was not on a Cowher roster. Even in 2010 only 2 players were on the D that were not on BC's roster. One of them was Ziggy Hood. That game was lost because of a lot of bad luck.

Since 2011 however the teams have also been pretty damn good. But are also falling short. One or two sound FA pickups just might have made the difference. What I said was [more to come]??

Brady eats blitzes for breakfast and asks for seconds. That’s the recipe for getting torched by the patriots. You should probably start paying attention to how fast Brady gets rid of the football.

I guess we can say the same for Belicheck. Without Brady I don't think he would have been as successful.

They were pretty good with Bledsoe. In fact they were good enough with Bledsoe to beat the Steelers in the playoffs(2x?)

Yea and I think everybody forgets that brady was horrible against us in 2001. Bloodsoe came in for one drive before half cause brady got his bell rung and went right down field and scored td. I remember laughing when they put brady back in after half and we should have won but kordel was kordel as usual in big game..........

That argument makes me dizzy. Does Belichick make Brady or does Brady make Belichick? I really don't think there are any similarities between Belichick and Tomlin. They're at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to coaching style. One is a decent coach and the other is perhaps the greatest ever coach. One is a disciplinarian who is laser focused on the next opponent (we're on to Cincinnati), the other is a player's coach who talks about hypothetical playoff games and regular season games three weeks away.

One runs a tight ship (military like according to a former Steeler who now plays for the Pats who shall remain unnamed) and the other allows his players the freedom to spout off at the mouth and look ahead to future opponents and stand outside the opposing team's locker room trash talking before the game and then just shrugs it off when asked about it. One is coaching in the Super Bowl for the 8th time in the last decade and a half and the other hasn't been to the Super Bowl in approaching a decade despite having by most accounts superior talent. One plays a mean game of checkers the other is Deep Blue.

Not to be picky, but ... "PIT" is only one more keystroke, and it's totally unambiguous.

Where would TS [the Steelers] have been ...

PIT works and I use it sometimes. But usually its in a negative post. It's a bit too formal.:smiley1: PIT is used as the code? name for TS on those odds and/or las vegas betting sites.

In an average post TS are referred to multiple times and to type it over and over it is 12 strokes. B&G is also 3 but you also have to use the with it so its 6/7. Hmm! Maybe tS would make more sense, yeah, I think so. From now on it's tS this, tS that etc.

Someone already questioned the use of TS earlier. I deliberately did not clarify it[like I always do] since the context of the post was self explanatory. I figured it was not going to be necessary to call in Sherlock Holmes for a solution.:smiley1:

Next you’re going to start using “4” and “2” and generally writing like a tween girl.

I've taken to referring to each of the thirty-two teams by the three-letter-code of the airport nearest its stadium.

The 2011 SB lost was on Ben. If he doesn't throw the picks, we win that game.Mike deserve some criticism but Ben does also. He has made some bone headed plays in the post season too, but nobody wants to talk about that.

Without Brady and the cheating, he does not have the success he has. I don't like Brady but he is a clutch time QB. He doesn't make mistakes when stuff is on the line.
