You can disagree, that's fine. I think there's legitimately 2-3 QBs in the draft thats potentially better than Pickett. I just highly doubt not a single one of them will be put in a position to succeed in Pittsburgh as long as Tomlin is the HC. They would ultimately be busts and ultimately be a waste of a draft pick.

Fitzpatrick was terrible today. He made no big plays for the defense and whiffed badly on the long catch-and-run right before halftime. He hasn't done much of anything worthwhile so far this season.

They are making it way too easy for teams to take away Watt, too. Highsmith should have dominated today, but he didn't. They were able to block him one-on-one with a scrub left tackle far too often.

Agreed. That's the problem with the Williams fantasy. The Steelers are probably going to win too many games to get one of the top two picks, so they would have to give up a huge package to even try to get one of those elite quarterbacks. They need those resources to fix the team's many other holes. Even if they do fire Canada, they might just promote from within again, which would just lead to more of the same.

Yes they may decide to hedge their bet in the next draft, it’s rare enough to get a franchise QB outside the first round but it does happen, Eagles got Hurts in the second for example.

Which is why it's ultimately time to pay Tomlin a ton of money to retire.

They won't do that, but they can tell him it's either move on or be moved.

Oh, more changes are needed than just QB. However Pickett is seeing what’s not there, and not seeing what is there. It’s so hard to fix thing when a QB can’t even determine what’s happening right in front of him.

Right now, the lesser of two evils would seem to be to sit Wallace. But I get where you're coming from. Peterson is washed.

Oh I agree. Precisely why I feel it's a waste of a draft pick to look at QB. Fill that RG/C hole or CB first. Hell, we need another DT and MLB while we're at it. Drafting a QB into this status quo is fools gold.

doesn't his contract run out at the end of this season. So they just dont offer him a new contract? The reason should be painfully clear but I could script the media firestorm. My answer if Tomlin doesnt go quietly if ai was the owner would we expect to win more playoff games than we have in the last decade. Case closed.

I tend to agree with this. He's just forcing things and playing outside of his lane. If a new OC can't correct this, by all means. But our status quo will nuke any QB.

The problem is, there are so many things broken within this offense that's it's difficult to determine who "patient zero" is so to speak.

It is that, but unless you stink enough to be in the top 10, or pay enough draft capitol to get there, then you are stuck. Plus many of those guys go bust as well, but you have to get a system in place for any guy to really thrive, we do not have that system.

It's not only who we are, it's who we've been for a while now. This is a bad team. The owner needs to get his head out of his ass and make changes.

We have seen guys who have done some pretty amazing things, the first issue is OC, then and as equal as OC is get that damn line working. KP may or may not be fixable..or even the guy, but you get problems 1 and 1A solved a lot of QB's could make this offence look good.

If I recall correctly, Wentz the rookie QB for the Eagles whipped us worse in 2016 than Stroud and Texans did today. And we had the impeccable Ben, Bell and Brown with Pouncey, DeCastro and Villanueva blocking.

They need a change of approach in relation to coaching appointments. It’s baffling how they continue to appoint senior coaches from within the organisation. New ideas and new concepts should be welcomed and sought out.

Fans will say that the Rooneys won’t spend the money but they spend up to the cap each year on players, coaching costs are a pittance in comparison. I just don’t understand what they have been trying to do in recent years.

Purdy was a 7th round pick and is having huge success in SF, Stroud just shredded the Steelers with a jokeshop Oline, you don’t need everything to be perfect in order to have success. But you do need to have a good coaching setup that knows how to get the most from what you have available

True. But this isn't the first time Steelers got owned by a rookie QB.

True but if we are to believe what some fans think, Tomlin will be unable to replace him with anyone worth a sh!t. Things have grown stale with the team but until the owner decides to move on from any number of coaches, the team is just putting a band aid on a bullet hole.
