Ravens may not be at their best Thursday night with the Rice fiasco going on this week.

I know. Is that not the greatest.. I think sometimes I hate them more then any other team. The NFL Analysts always begin a year talking about how NE is this and that, world beaters and potential SB winners.. That just make me much more angry lol. They did not disappoint.. Before the Steelers game I think 3 of the analysts were predicting NE in the SB.. OMG

I wasn't aware of the news till after my post.. you could be onto something or do they come out as a pack of junkyard dogs filled with frustration and play over their heads due to their resent losses. If we keep our composure (minimal penalties) play consistently for 60 mins. foot on the gas we can bust their purple tushes. :lolol:

The main thing that has me worried is the fact that it's a short week. We played Philly on a short week and didn't look that good in the preseason. I just hope the young guys can get prepared in that short amount of time. I read something not too long ago about how a lot of players hate the Thursday games and feel they are just too hard on their bodies. I know the young guys shouldn't have a problem with the physical aspect of the short week. I just hope they don't have a problem with the mental aspect.

Interesting to see all of them listed like that. Only Luck, Brees, Ryan and Newton are top 10 QB's to me and Newton doesn't have a lot of weapons offensively. The schedule sure does look favorable, let's just hope our offense rolls and the D improves over the course of the season(as they should). We will have a pretty good opportunity to make a run at the division

I guess it's too early to make a prediction, but IMO the team we saw 1st half represents much more the essence of the 2014 Steelers than what we saw the 2nd half.

I hate short weeks and i'm sure the team shares my sentiments. We need more discipline less flags as for the ongoing hemorrhaging in the secondary unbelievable. So many discrepancies and issues early in the season just hope we overcome. As for Baltimore.. i never liked playing their for the early game and the week after they lose.. Hoping Blast is right and my theory is a bust.

Yeah another sorta "light at the end of the tunnel" for me is that we DO traditionally start slow. I would just like to see more of the first half this year and less of the second half. A LOT less! Maybe we should have pulled the old "oh man I'm shaken up" thing that teams used to use to slow down up tempo offenses? LOL.

And Ben R is beat up even worse LOL,
Qb's like this do not come around that often,
We are wasting a lot of good years.

I have a slightly different perspective. I think the inconsistency that we saw Sunday represents the current essence of this team, and it's really nothing new. For years our scoring has been sporadic and occurs in bunches with droughts for several series in between. Defensively, even when our defense was great there would be stretches of games where we looked awful and gave up points easily. I think that Sunday's inconsistencies may have been magnified by the amount of inexperience that we had on the field.

The optimist's view is that the 1st half shows that we have the capability to dominate in all phases of the game. The pessimist's view is that we can be humbled by lesser competition. I think we'll see stretches of both plenty of times this season. The key is to escape with wins when we have the prolonged stretches of ineptness, just like we did Sunday.
