I do not like James be suspended anymore than the next guy, but is this what the NFL needs. Does it need a start play to be suspended to show how bad the rules have become. What happens when another star player gets the same thing or when one has the same hit and then ESPN show why they should have been suspended and were not. I really hope that another star gets the same treatment and all defense players get together in the off season and protest next year. :godell:

Hmmmmm defenses protesting next year? What would that look like? I just had an amusing image flash through my brain.

Maybe the defenses could stage their protest by choosing a date and refusing to play on that particular day. By refusing to play, I do not mean not going onto the field. Instead, they go onto the field and line up, but do nothing to stop each offense. So the offenses all score on one-play drives for a whole game creating scores in the HUNDREDS where the last team to score wins.

Yeah - but it would be funny as hell for one weekend. Imagine the sports pages and box scores.

What the NFL and Roger Goodell really need to strive for is that all 32 teams create new stadiums with 100 yard long swimming pools and Equipment Personnel with enough bubble wrap to cover each player from head to tow. They can all float around and kick with their feet like a mermaid. The player with the ball will only need to be one handed touched as two hands may cause a small possiblity of drowning.

Field goal attempts and kickoffs would become slightly more difficult but think of the preventable injury factor to all the players.

Hey Roger - Where is the NFL Suggestion Box?

My only real issue with the suspension is that there doesn't seem to be any objective standard whereby fines turn into missing games. As there doesn't seem to be such a system for the fines as it is, I doubt the suspension will have much effect.
