DJ was the biggest culprit and when you are the most targeted guy on the team, it can really stall an offense.

The offensive line was another issue, at least through the first half of the season.

Canada's offense is heavy in PA passing. If a QB can't run a PA which Ben really couldn't in his final years, then the offense is going to struggle.

which then begs the question, why did they bring Canada in? Also, it’s not only Ben, Trubisky struggled also. Granted he can’t throw accurately (on the run or even consistently in the pocket). From the outside looking in, This whole process doesn’t look well thought out.

finally, maybe, things will sort of come together this year - but if it does, the Steelers lucked into it (getting Pickett primarily)

Trubisky was never a solution at QB. He was signed as a stop gap or backup, nothing more. The ****up was Rudolph.

If Trubisky was just considered a stop gap so was Rudolph. From the beginning Rudolph was never considered an heir apparent, that was all media and fan talk and Ben’s insecurity.

Trubiskys problems go deeper than Canada’s limits as an offensive coordinator

    Yes and yes

Neither was signed as a long term solution

Both were signed so we didn’t have a WR or TE playing QB nothing more

I actually think Colbert thought Rudolph could be a good starting QB one day, Mitch was what he was when they signed him.
