Local radio station was doing a live show this morning from camp and discussed the jet sweep

If it run at the goal line and it works everyone is ecstatic

If it doesn’t work everyone hates the call and the coaches

Yeah, there's that too. Some are better at it than others.

Just don't run jet sweeps when it's 3rd and long or pass behind the line to gain on third down and I will be a better fan.

My biggest gripe with the play is they really haven't expanded much off of it. I felt like he did so much more with it at Pitt than with the Steelers. I remember WR/TW screens and TE shovel passes off it. He still ran it 4-5 times a game but it was far more explosive dur to the other nuances and wrinkles to the set that is lacking here. What good is a 7 yard jet sweep on a 3rd & 8?

    It’s like a 5 yard out pattern on 3rd and 8

NOD was the master of this

I like when nod would step out of bounds 10 yards behind the los w the ball instead of throwing it away so he didn't drop his completion %.

Its cool, we're just debating, no worse than other forums,

It would be tough to top my 5th grade teacher anyway (actually my 4th grade teacher could hit like Muhammad Ali, and she would sneak up on us too).....going to grade school in the 70's was memorable.

And there are people who look at his stats and still think he was a good QB

At the same time, the steelers were not a good team since 2019...No QB in 2019,Ben was washed after that and a transition year last year

The jet sweep will hopefully be run by Calvin Austin this year instead of Gunner. Canada has his guy now that was born to run the jet sweep.

I’m guessing very large doses of JS Left JS Right multiple times a half.

Except for the fact they were successful. Despite your claims the proof is in the pudding. Someone did your homework for you.

If that is the case won’t that somewhat telegraph the play when he is on the field

He will do more than run the jet sweep. Being the fastest guy on the team he has caught the most deep passes in training camp this year. He will also be targeted a lot on quick slants. All he needs is a small crease and he is off to the races.

That’s hard to do when your personnel are shooting themselves in the foot on a fairly consistent basis.we saw claypool throw a td pass off a jet sweep last year.

I think Canada has had 2 years of his hands being tied. Not saying he's going to be good, just saying that he hasn't been able to run the offense the way he wants.

Also, many plays last year, ones that would have led to scores, had dropped balls, players running backwards, missed assignments, etc. The calling of the plays are only half of the formula, the player's need to execute as well.

I agree. I believe this is the 1st year we may really see the offense how it's intended, and this from the Guy that didn't want us to hire Him because I thought He sucked as a college OC.

Alot of what you’re describing comes from DJ. I don’t remember too many dropped passes and running backward from too many other players.

I don’t know what will make Canadas offense go. it wasn’t old immobile Ben, even though he was better than ineffective Trubisky (who was supposed to be a solution to the offense). Maybe the rebuilt o line will help. But like Haley said the route running needs to be cleaned up also. I’m not expecting much from Canada himself, any improvements may come from a joint effort of KP and the QB coach helping Canada tweak plays and routes.

In college, if he had the right players, his offense was pretty good. I don't think he's the type of OC that can adapt to the players though.
