Is Teryl Austin the Next DC??

I'm not sure if this confirms any of my speculating but we have discussed that the reason Butler didn't tell Joey Porter in get in line with what Butler was doing on defense might have been because he knew Tomlin had Porter's back and Butler didn't want to challenge a head coach for weakening him.

 

He had one in the Chiefs game

 

Not saying you are wrong but if you are correct why lie about it? It gains nothing and changes nothing.

 

Butler having a playsheet and headset doesn't necessarily mean he is calling the plays but could be, or he is giving his opinion on the calls

 

I'm going by what I see, I have seen Tomlin with a smaller playsheet sometimes, but he doesn't have it every game. That's why I don't believe he makes all the calls on gameday, you ever notice this subject only comes up when the Steelers lose .

 

Austin could be involved up in the booth.

 

Honestly until I saw the tweet from Dulac I was going to ask how everyone was so sure that Tomlin, who delegates a lot, was running the defense. Not sure I 100% believe it but again why lie.

 

Confirmed regarding Tomlin. Do not mind if a Head Coach calls plays every now and then but allow the Cooridnators to call the plays. Also agree that Art Rooney II needs to state this to Tomlin.

 

Remind you all that, Keith never specifically mentions how much involvement Tomlin has. Only that Tomlin does call plays. That said, how much should he be able to do so?!

 

Whatever they decide, they better do it soon. Give the scouts enough time to evaluate who would fit best in the new system

 

If Butler did leave on his own( which i doubt ) i cant blame him, im sure he gets tired of being the dog everyone kicks when things go south...lol

 

I can accept a new young hot shot as an OC, but I'm looking for an experienced DC.

 

If you recorded the game go to 2:22 in the 2nd qtr….. perfect shot of Butler with his hands in his pockets looking bored….

That’s all I know, what the best writers say, what butlers says and what the tv picture shows…..

I don't mind a Head coach stepping in ,or over ruling a play, but I don't like any Head Coach calling the plays. IMO. Otherwise why not Hire a OC, or DC You trust. The Head Coach has 2 many other responsibilities for this. Again. JMO

 

He certainly won’t come to Pitt to hold the play card while Tomlin makes the def calls.

 

You really think he's going to do that after 15 years? This coaching staff is an absolute mess. Art is the reason.

I mean... AR 2 essentially fired Bruce even though Tomlin wanted him. There is that to consider. Have no fear though good sir.... for I believe you might have missed my ultimatum regarding AR 2.



Should I see no great forms of change this upcoming off season, you will see me rebuttal towards detractors like yourself and others no more. For that matter, have at him. Enough is enough.

Man if that is totally true about Butler, I feel sorry for Him. Everyone talking trash about You,and You aren't doing it.
Well if They are giving Tomlin this much rope....He will either lasso a SB, or Hang Himself with it. I hope it's the former, and not the latter.
