I had high hopes for Buddy. I see the 229 listed from last draft. If they wanted him at 240-245 by now he could be there. That he couldn't get on the field last year, despite the horrid ILB play, is worrisome.

He was essentially red shirted. No worries for me there personally. How he will look heading into Training Camp this year will be telling for certain.... assuming the Steelers do not draft a Buck level 'Backer in the class. It would not bother me if the team checked out either RaShaan Evans or LVE but it is unlikely to happen. The draft is the most likely spot to get a Buck player.

Remember How the Steelers use 2 beat up on those Tampa teams. Run it straight at them. Hell some of the best rushing games are against that vaunted Tampa D.

I guess you forgot about the defense in 2019, over 50 sacks and 38 turnovers, the defense was also good in 2020 until the injuries hit.

This is just like the time you went after Watt during a game day thread because you think money makes people run faster. You were wrong then and wrong now and so like a child you just start flailing at everything. I have zero control over this football team and have never claimed that they even listen to me(unlike say, I don't know, you!) so getting upset or happy about something I don't control is sorta pointless. Feel free to respond with more links to tweets or claims that I'm crying and deluding myself I need more humor in my day.

Gee I wonder if she will feel the same way if Austin pulls a Tomlin on her? That would be epically ironic.

Yeah, it's just a coincidence Austin's first year they had 38 turnovers, he preached it to his players. But according to you he doesn't deserve any credit .

I didn't say that did I? I asked for a breakdown of where the turnovers took place, the type and by who. If you are crediting the secondary for all of them then yes he deserves praise, if it was by the whole defense then the whole defensive staff deserves praise. The flip side of your statement is that if his first year they had 38 and that number dropped in subsequent years what was the reason? If you credit a person for the good they also get the bad as well don't they? These are complex things simply throwing out a number with no context doesn’t move the needle.

Would you care to try again?

Turnovers aren't a guaranteed thing, sometimes it's luck, nobody should expect them to get 38 turnovers every year that's just not going to happen.

That's nice and completely not relevant to the discussion. What. Were the 38 turnovers? In order for them to support your point the vast majority should be by the secondary otherwise it isn't something that can solely be credited to Austin. This statement also contradicts your point of Austin's influence on being mindful of turnovers would mean that while it is unrealistic to expect that number of turnovers a year it isn't unrealistic to expect that number to be slightly below, at, or slightly above given similar conditions year to year. So while the 38 is fully credited to Austin's influence anything below that is clearly bad luck of things not bouncing their way. Yeah don't think it works that way.

What I remember is guys looking around at each other over and over like they had no clue where they were supposed to be. How many times does it take to adjust to a TE that is running wide open all game? So maybe you're right. Maybe this guy is going to turn around this defense. Maybe Tomling will actually let him make some of the calls during the game. I'm not holding my breath on any of that. So we will see what he does. We have no choice

if they don't help him he will have to be a miracle worker. you dump hilton and nelson and give him a rookie part time safety/ corner back and arther maulet, james pierre and an old haden and say make it work. he was also the coach that said when the season started no less, that we didn't have time to put in a dime package because we didn't know who could play the slot in the nickel yet.

And the Steelers aren't the only team that kind of stuff happens to, they did a good job for the most part taking away other teams #1 threat.
