at this point in time (not in Ben's prime) , is Mason better than Ben? Didn't see any batted balls, Connected on the deep ball, Wasn't scared to throw the ball more than 5 yards, Arm seems strong. He did have one bad INT but ben has had tons of those as well. This is not a troll post. Steelers depot highlights a lot of things that i haven't seen ben do in his last couple seasons played.

Id take Mason over the last 4 games Ben has played but I'm hoping the “old” Ben is back

No. Mason had some nice throws last week, I like the way he throws that deep fade in particular, and he seems more confident than last year.

If he was the full time starter I think teams would figure out how to disrupt him fairly quickly like they did last year. There is no way he can even hold a candle to Ben in relation to processing and reading coverages etc. A couple of games in and we’d be crying out for Ben again.

I think at this point in Ben's career, from an athletic ability standpoint, Mason probably is better. Ben certainly has the better mind and has seen it all, and generally makes the right decisions.

I think this question can be answered pretty simply.... Would you feel more comfortable with Ben or Mason, starting against Cleveland?

If that 2nd half of the Colts game didn't happen, it would be a for sure Mason. Was that a fluke 2nd half though? i'm not sure. during that 4 game stretch ben looked terrible. Depends on what Ben you get i guess.

Actually Dobbs is better than Rudolph. I wouldn't want either one of those 2 starting a playoff game for the Steelers though. It would take for Ben to throw 4 Int's before he would get yanked anyways. Hopefully that will never be the case. Dobbs may see some mix up action on Sunday according to some reports out there. Mason won't see a snap unless those 4 Int's were to happen.

Edit - I take that back. Just compared Dobbs and Rudolph stats. I'll stick by the rest of my statement though.

In Ben’s last 8 games his QB rtg is 87.1. Masons on Sunday was 89.2.
this yrs league average is 93.7. So maybe they’re closer than you think.

for laughs, Dobbs 4 of 5 for 2 yds, rates out at 79.2.

At .5 yard average it would only take 20 downs to get a first. That's only if Snell doesn't rush for minus yards somewhere in there. Sounds standard for Fitchners playbook.

Last week against a depleted Browns team that suffered further injury during the game Mason looked good. People talk about the bad interception but they are the same ones who defended Ben's horrible 5 turnover game against Jacksonville by saying he still threw 5 TD's and nearly 500 yards. So is Mason better than Ben? No not really. He is younger less pain to deal with and can move better which allowed plays to develop as they should and didn't limit those plays. However if Ben is doped up and not feeling the aches and pains as he was against the Colts he is the better QB....if he can remember that. So Mason is improving but old Ben is better, more seasoned.

Ben’s knees were better during the Colts game than they had been. Let’s hope the week of rest helped even more.

I’d take a healthy Ben over Mason.

Should Ben get hurt during the game, hope that Mason can keep it close until last drive of the game where you want Ben if even on one leg.

Is there any proof Ben doped up at halftime of the Colts game or is that just speculation?

Mason also played a terrible defense and you see what happens when he’s pressured. With that being said he throws a beautiful long ball and is a better passer than dobbs. Dobbs can’t throw the ball but he’s not afraid and he can run well. How far we go is determined by ben as always.

I would love a Buffalo rematch with Ben playing hot

Maybe bens worried, he practiced on wed.. Kidding!! I have no problem with mason. Everybody expects 10 year veteran play from him right out of the gate. Let the kid evolve. Quit expecting Ben at his best from ever qb from here forward. Ben has had plenty of clunkers over his years. We can't keep drafting a new one every year until they come out and have a 10 TD performance in game one.

Ten years ago Ben was definitely better. Now? Mason is right there. Doesn't matter though, because as long as Ben has a Steeler uniform on, he'll be the starter, no matter how bad he plays

Yep, nobody in the league throw the 2.5 second behind line LOS pass like Big Ben. 32-57 123 yards stat lines.

Not saying he is better but even if he was better he would not be starting. Most teams will not bench a Future Hall of Fame QB. It just does not happen very often. Some teams may force a player out earlier than they want but rarely do you see a player of Bens Caliber get benched for anyone of Masons Caliber.

Proof no but the alternative is he played a Keiser Sose in the longest con in professional football until the second half of the colts game. Fair bet he was worried what would happen if he started heating up the joints and by that point decided to get some numbing shots.

Well if the only passes Mason is going to throw are deep or at the line of scrimmage and the Browns promise not to rush the passer then, sure.

On second thought, no, I’d still start Ben.
