I think brown is capable of being a number 1. Everything i have read he has a work ethic that of jerry rice. Work ethic and putting in the time will take you a long way. Thats way im not counting tebow out yet as well.

I wouldn't give a crap if we lost Wallace and picked up WR Micheal Floyd out of Notre Dame. 6'3 225 and physically tough, good hands, and he's fun to watch. Go get 'em type of WR, but that's wishful thinking on my part....

I agree. While I think we MUST tender him the highest contract (1st and 3rd?), I defeinitely do not believe in getting into a bidding war with another team over him. If someone wants to offer him some crazy contract, then unfortunately I say goodbye to Mike. With Brown and Sanders we'll be set, and it's not too difficult to find a journeyman vet or two to fill out the WR corps with different role players (Cotchery). Besides, the prospects of a DeCastro/Konz first round (or something similar) makes me salvitate.

While I prefer not to see him go (we should bid up to his fair market vallue, and maybe a little over that) we'll be OK if he's gone. May see less of the bombs-away approach we take on offense if the biggest carrot isn't dangling in front of Ben's and BA's nose anymore.

One of the reasons Brown had a good year teams were doubling Wallace. The Steelers don't have anybody else to take the top off coverage like Walllace he's a restricted free agent the Steelers can match any offer he receives.

Technically they can match any offer cap wise they cant. The only way the steelers keep him is if he gets a long term deal before the deadline.

Wow, I would love to get the 6th or 7th overall pick for Wallace. No way we will though, those teams just won't give up such a high pick for Wallace when they could draft a true #1 with their own picks. If Wallace isn't wide open, he can't catch the ball. That's not the sign of a great WR. If we did get either pick, I would trade down a few spots and take Decastro.

I think this offense would do fine without wallace and it would give us a pick to get a true redzone threat at wr.
