Unless Landry or Zach are our future, l believe it's time to look forward. Ben is getting up in age and injuries are common. When do you think this organization finally focuses on drafting the next heir apparent?

ben just has to play smarter. look at brady, manning, and brees all playing close to their 40's and rarely get hurt. Ben has to learn to throw the ball sooner and avoid contacts. if he can do that, he's got 4/5 year left in him.

Father time shows no mercy, when you can't keep yourself safe(avoid pass rush). The game is over.
The hits over the years have taken its toll.

I've been saying for years ...during Arian's time here,..Ben take what they give you and move the chains. And then, take a shot down field when you have them on their heels. Well Haley, was supposed to coach him to get the ball out quickly but Ben went back to the glory ball play.
Holding the ball too long + sack=INJURY!

He didnt get hurt holding the ball too long or from a sack. He got hurt being blocked after the interception. I think Laundry was his replacement....

I thought he pulled up a little before that, then the defender blocked him after the INT and he fell on it.

Either way, though, I wouldn't have called the play holding on too long. If he had gone down after the first contact it would have been odd. The mistake he made was not throwing it away. Had he got it to a receiver who then made a big gain, we would be talking more about the state of the o-line than how Ben holds on too long.

Ben was having an MVP type of season, up until he got hurt yesterday. There are 21 other players that get on the field other than the Quarterback. Want to know why, the Patriots went 3-1 without Brady? The other 21 guys stepped up and they didn't make excuses. Steelers have to do the same. Just go play good football and you can win.

We don't have the talent to do it ...The Pats have a complete roster and multiple good players at each position...We have guys starting that shouldn't even be on the field then when we go to depth guys like Jones playing who shouldn't even be in the league..

I think it's time to look for another quarterback. Not only for the simple fact that Ben is getting injured more often but we don't have a suitable backup. I wonder what Batch, Leftwich and Grawkoski is doing.

Yeah, I mean I don't think there is any doubt at all that we need to start looking for a suitable replacement for Ben- even if he sits and learns like Aaron Rodgers did. I am thinking they will do that in the next draft. More pressing is, we need to get someone in as a backup that is capable of doing more than just holding the clipboard.

I think it happened when the defender slapped his right foot. Watch right after that his left knee looks to buckle a little

This is exactly what I'm hoping they do, and why I'm also hoping that the Steelers don't wait too long to do this. Bite the bullet, find a 1st or 2nd round QB that you're confident can be the future, and pull the trigger in the draft. Let him sit behind Ben a few years and God willing, he's ready to take the torch from Ben when that dreaded day comes...

IMO, this has to happen in the next 2 years!

2018 is the target year then considering that, outside of Brad Kaaya or DeShone Kizer.. there really is not too many options there; Chad Kelly's abilities or DeShaun Waston's playmaking being non factors considering neither fit into what Pittsburgh wants from their quarterback.

Why did Ben get hurt yesterday.....cause the O-line got their asses pushed backwards and Ben had to leave the pocket and almost got sacked, then he throws a horrible pass...that's why he got hurt, period!

Our O line can't handle big defensive fronts that well

We had a QB for the future, but we let him go! WHY ?

We didn't even have the decency to give him any playing

    time?

I will admit that Tajh Boyd has a lot of ego problems, but

the NFL has a way of humbling a young QB.

NFL teams don't like arrogant players because they always

    seem to get into trouble.

The good news is that he is still a young man and has only

been out of football for a year.

Agreed. When the defender swiped at his feet is when the injury occurred, I think

Any opposing D with strong big D lineman gives our O line fits. That's why they rush 4. Finesse defenses we handle no problem. Even Seattle we scored 30 because their strength is hhe secondary
