Arians situational playcalling was a disaster. Completely glad he is gone. Unfortunately, Haley seemed to take a page from it during the Bengals 3rd quarter on the 3rd and 2 near the goal line when he went 5 wide empty backfield. Sometimes I think the average fan could do a better job than some of these coaches.

This stuff is such BS. Mike Wallace had 113 targets in 16 games in 2011. Last year he had 119 targets in 15 games. More targets in less games, yet he said he was losing focus because he wasn't as involved. I guess more targets than ever before in his entire career is not being involved. Most receivers in the league dream of getting more targets than ever before.

The fact that he wasn't running as many go routes as before is the only reason he was pouting, and that's pretty pathetic. When the team has a weak Oline, it's hard to go deep as often. Perhaps if he focused on becoming a complete WR, he'd get the big money he was after

Yeah but one major difference, when Mangini told everyone NE was taping practices it became a story and busted the whole thing wide open. When Haley made his accusations what happened? *cricket cricket* Nothing happened because the guy is a nut job. How many teams were banging down his door for interviews when we hired him??? He's very lucky that his dad has a history with the Steelers, he committed career suicide with those accusation but the Steelers rescued his ass. I've never liked Haley, he's a head case but if he can put together a top rated offense and he and Ben can co exist, I don't care.

Is there a story on him not getting any job offers? Seems unlickly to me. I know it was more recent, but didn't he interview for the job in Arazona?

Yep and only Arizona, again, there's a connection there. But in light of our season last year, that's not so surprising that he wasn't more sought after.

But you have to admit that Mangini's accusation was much more global in nature than someone bugging an office of their own head coach. The ramifications of Spygate are huge and carry implications far beyond one player or coach on one team. The cheating scandal could have altered the course of football history. Would the Pats have won those Super Bowls or even gone to those Super Bowls had they not cheated? I don't think they would have. Comparing that story to the Haley office bugging story is apples and oranges.

As for Haley not being sought after by other teams I don't think that's necessarily accurate. He would have landed somewhere, maybe not as an OC right away. But some team would have hired him as an offensive assistant or a QB coach or something. He's too talented and too bright for some team not to give him an opportunity. I don't think he did a bad job in KC necessarily. The first year he was there they were rebuilding and made great strides. His second season they made the playoffs and were a team on the rise and then he was prematurely fired, IMHO, his third season there because black and gold blood doesn't mix well with cheatriot blood. But he was winning some games with TYLER PALKO as his QB. Tomlin had a hard time winning with BIG BEN as his QB this year if we want to put the blame on the head coaches. Take a look at what Romeo Crennel did this past year with the same group that Haley had the year before. :hmmm:

You might want to get used to having Haley around TE. I think there is a realistic chance that he becomes the Steelers next head coach. ;)

How about trying to use your brain a little before crying bs. Wallace is a small speedster, not a big strong receiver like a megatron. Instead of giving him 2 yard passes and hoping he breaks tackles utilize his speed and get the ball to him in full stride. You're right on one aspect in that he's not a complete receiver. One of the knocks on him coming out of college was his tendency to let the ball get to his body and 4 years later we are still seeing that. However, Haley chose not to use his best asset and instead went for the proverbial square peg in a round hole.

Wiretapping is a crime Jack! Might even be a federal crime, I think people would be interested if Pioli was doing that ;) And the only way Haley is ever going to become HC of the Steelers is if the Rooneys sell you the team :lolol:

If Wallace is still letting the ball get in to his body, not catching it at the highest level, -or extending himself for it, he clearly is not the best weapon.

Yes, the fear of him catching the long one attracts safety help, but until the ball is made of velcro, he's not gonna catch it consistently. Nearly every playoff team has someone who is big, fast, and will go get the ball! You will see a true head case if he stays here another season. Oh yeah-run crisper routes!

i say if he is making coaches leave, he's done a good job, but he's not done i hope. i'm not his biggest fan but i don't think he got to run his whole offense with the linemen we had. as i've said all year. now he should have no excuse with this line. now the excuse may be heath is out and a new RB and receiver.
