If Cousins can come back right where he left off then maybe but that 30 million a year price tag might be too high. It's interesting that the "Cousin's camp" has his possibilities down to the Steelers and Falcons. I can't wait for free agency to start to see what the Steelers do if anything.

Id be very surprised if he doesn’t re-sign in Minnesota. They don’t have a credible alternative nor the draft capital to get one

Right now Minnesota has $24.6 million in cap space and the Steelers have -13.8 million in cap space. Lets hope it goes to a bidding war :)

Cousins is 35 and looking for a 3 year $120 million contract. HARD PASS

How about say no to others mistakes. How about make sure we resign our own Qbs....like Mason, and draft one later this year, and if KFP, and Mason can't get it done....Move up next Year in the draft, and get one.

Signing Cousins would be a clear “win-now” move. It’s not going to happen, but if it did (and he’s fully recovered) we would instantly be a top contender.

Cousins is still a stud. Prior to his injury he was throwing for 291 yards a game (nearly a 5,000 yard pace). Threw 18 Td's in those 8 games, completing 69.5% of his passes. I wouldn't balk at picking him up just because he is only likely to be good for another 2-3 seasons. We don't have to throw 7 years at the guy. A 3 year deal would be just fine, and it would likely make us actual contenders immediately.

It doesn't get us closer to finding the next Ben, but we are about as far away as we've ever been. We have one QB on our roster and he is the reincarnation of Landry Jones. This is a viable way to win. and multiple teams have proved that. The Broncos won with Payton Manning in the twilight of his career. Tom Brady won for the Buccaneers. Matt Stafford in Los Angeles. Would a shot at winning it all be worth it? Cousins is an excellent player. If this team is truly "a QB away from contending" then this is the move. Only the FO can make that call as to whether or not they believe they are that close to contending.

So sign Mason and draft a developmental QB that we hope can be a good back up someday. If it doesn't work out, then trade our 2025 and 2026 firsts (plus a good deal more in all likelihood) to roll the dice on a 21-22 year old kid and hope it works out....

If it’s a clear win now situation then we should stay away from the guy who has only won one playoff game in his career
