Hard to tell when you trail by 2 scores or more right out of the gate every game.

I do think one thing people are forgetting when they answer "Would Bell matter in these games?" and they go with "Well does he play defense" is the fact that teams have to gameplan around Bell. No one is gameplanning around Conner.

He is the present but i think he should split carries with ridley or some one. I don't see him as a feature back or the answer for RB in the future. Losing Bell hurts us more than some think

This is the second game that started as a disaster but was tied to start the 3rd quarter and they continued to abandon the run. They have little to no faith in Conner, so he isn't given a chance to see if he can get something going.

Except at times the Steelers have run well against them, an example being the game in Baltimore last season.

I am more worried whether Rudolph or Dobbs is the future after last nights performance by Ben.

I love James. I'm all for James. But, he needs to get it going. The blocking and starts of games (1st QT) have been inconsistent. But he needs to prove a lot to the Steelers organization the last remaining 12 games to be the future lead back.

I’m not a Conner-cheerleader, but...There rarely seemed to be much of a hole made for him last night. Not sure why not...? I’d love to hear some analysis of the run game from guys who know football.

Cannot run if the run blocking is inadequate; execution no less.

For that matter, cannot run effectively when one is consistently going three and out either.

You saw what he is capable of the first game. 2 of the next 3 games after that they were playing from behind. They aren't committing to the run. As Diamond said, he got 9 carries yesterday.

Until last night though, at least he was productive in the passing game. He was a non factor yesterday.

End of the season we'll have a better idea of what they need or don't need at that position.

Should have used the 2 QB picks on players that can actually help this team.....

We need to get Samuels going and watch Conners game productivity increase. Samuels is the missing link in this offense right now.

Was going to say the same thing about Love...

I don't think Ridley will be back next season, so they will add another RB at some point in the draft next year I can imagine. Like Blast said, at the end of the year, we'll know how high of a pick that needs to be. As of right now, I'd use another 3rd on one.

Oline play especially run blocking has been piss poor all year. Just another underlying issue with this train wreck

Conner is good for the present. He currently has 3.68 yard average. That's enough to create a run game. The Steelers have to commit to it. And the offensive line needs to stand up.

They need to use Nix more, why else is he on the roster besides special teams.
