Is Canada fired yet?

I think I would have let him get back on the plane home last night and then while he was waiting for his bags, I , as MT, would have approached him with a handshake and simply said "your days as the Steelers OC are over. Have a nice remainder of 2022".

 

Why? Because the limitations at QB and the OLINE was young and make shift for the majority of the year due to injuries.

I really enjoyed watching 3rd down short throws to the first down marker and then sprinting toward the sideline….that’s after running backward.

 

He should be let go. I think a coach no matter what talent you have or lack, should put a team in the best position to be successful. You can't tell me that a better OC with an aging QB and the youth on the line, would have looked like this. They were predictable and never got any better.

 

The sad thing is the Steelers knew what type of offense Canada ran before hiring him. His horizontal jet-sweep heavy game only works in college. Why they believed it would be effective in the NFL is beyond my comprehension.

 

The best response to the scenario would be if Canada told MT "see you and Butler in the unemployment line".

Unfortunately, they will all probably be retained.

 

change is needed. i hope some smart people get this train wreck figured out. We do suck - that does not change even tho we made the playoffs. We got mauled WAAAAYYY to many times years, Just embarrassing on both sides of the ball.
