At one time I thought Brady was just lucky, just a product of a system of success. I actually felt that way until just a few years ago but at some point, that started to change. I expected Brady to be "outed" as the impostor I thought he was but that never happened. In fact, he has risen to the occasion every single time it looked like it was over and he was coming back to earth. Adversity always brought out the best in him. So...

Here I am today after his fourth Super Bowl win, a win in which he was named Super Bowl MVP, declaring that, IMHO, Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time! It pains me to say that, but I'm now convinced that he is. He's a great competitor and knows how to rise to the occasion.

What can I say, Mr. Brady? I was wrong about you.

What do you guys think? Is Brady now the greatest ever?

Let's see if they even make it to the play-offs next year when the NFL will provide all the balls for the games.....

    Oh, wait... you're serious?!?!

He will never be more than a glorious fraud in my eyes.

But hey, congrats on breaking Joe Montana's record. Only took you 2 extra Superbowls....

    Uh, make me?

I take it that you disagree and that's fine. Just looking for some discussion and debate on whether or not he is. I think a valid argument can now be made that he is. I don't enjoy saying that, but the guy's a gutsy competitor, I don't think you'd argue that. He doesn't have the greatest tools of all time and the "cheating" controversies may not help his legacy. But he's in the discussion, don't you think?

Yeah, I think he is. Look what he did when he actually had an all star WR, he set NFL records and that team went 18-0 and made it to the SB. Since Moss left he's had almost nothing at the WR position and he lost 1 of his star TE's as well. He showed with Moss that he can go long and he's showing now that he can throw quick passes that provide an opportunity for YAC.

He's never had half the talent around him that Manning has had.

Two extra SBs and in an open and passing era.

Joe is still #1 in my book, but gotta give Brady props. I think (and always have) he's better than the choke artist Manning. Manning would have gagged and thrown a pick 6 on that 3rd and long that TB converted.

Brady is absolutely in the discussion of greatest QBs ever. He has the numbers, he has the titles. You can argue Unitas, Otto Graham, Bart Starr, Montana. He is right there with them.

Brady was off on his throws all night. 2 int's should have thrown for 4. Short dinks and dunks that were awful passes thanks to the WR's good hands and YAC. Brady looked awful when he faced a little bit of pressure and looked even worse trying to throw the ball pass ten yards. Numbers are misleading especially in this game because Brady looked off all night even with a great offensive line and great plays by the WR's....

Yeah, just think what Marino would have done to the league with the rules now!

Are you kidding me? You get to bring your own balls broken in the way you like and the defenses can't touch your receivers?

They'd still be chasing his stats!

Gee, was there something that prevented Super Joe from getting to 2 more SuperBowls? Other than losing to somebody in the else in the playoffs?

Super Bowl record for completions. 4 touchdown passes. It wasn't perfect, but I don't think you're giving him enough credit either. He was great on that last drive in crunch time. I'm not a Brady fan either but try to look at it objectively.

    Brady +
Very smart, reads defenses better than most
Throws dart-like accuracy in the 3-5 yard range
    Has excellent pocket presence

    Brady -
    No big-play capability
Less than accurate when faced with even minimal pressure
Tends to be afforded great protection

QBs are only as good as the players around them. Tonight. Brady threw some passes that his receivers bailed him out on. Down ten points, his defense kept Seattle scoreless in the fourth quarter. He didn't do that. Likewise, in SB XLII, it wasn't his fault that the D let him down and allowed Eli to drive for the game-winning TD.

Who knows. If Manning played for BB in New England, he might have four rings, too...or maybe six or seven. And it is also impossible to rank QBs given the differences in rules and the fact that QBs now have headsets in the helmets.

He's saying that it took him 2 more just to break Joe's record.

I'm assuming he means the TD record Joe had 11 in 4 Superbowls. Brady has 13 in 6. and was actually behind him with 9 in 5 before the game.

All of those QBs had help. Montana had Rice and Taylor. Pretty good supporting cast. Who are Brady's WRs again?

    Me.
Always said top 5 even before tonight. Starting 6 is amazing. To me he's #2 behind Joe. Let him win another (with fully inflated balls :lolol: ) before he goes to #1

no one ever does. Take Ben, no Harrison 100yd TD or now offensive PI call on Sea, he's an 0-3 SB loser.

Montana didn't have Rice and Taylor for his first two SB wins.

Brady went undefeated with Moss, Welker, and Stallworth. And then didn't play well in XLII. That was a good WR corps.

Brady didn't consitently have to defeat good defenses in the post-season. It's all relative. Montana had to always fight through the Giants, Redskins, and Bears to get to the Super Bowl.
