Just realized that he's 34yrs old. Terry Bradshaw retired at the age of 34/35. Does he still have it to carry this team? Hard to believe that QBs like Manning, Brady, Brees are playing near their 40's. I hope Ben still has it.

He can still get it done. He's been off a the last two games. Yesterday, the rest of the offense didn't help him much. Drop balls, bad pass protection.

He has it but if the guys you mentioned had played behind the lines Ben has had to deal with we wouldn't even know their names. Ben was still atrocious yesterday though. There were shots that were missed for sure. The same goes for the bungles game.

I think this is his last season ..He is starting to look rattled to me and afraid to step into his throws ...I think we have seen the best of Ben ...

it's like this. Ben has glory games and stinkers. The stinkers used to come far and between, they are just coming more frequent due to age. Ben used to be able to carry the team but I think unfortunately we need a better team as a whole to compete

Just last year he threw for 6 TDs in back to back games for a record, the problem this year is defenses know their number one goal is to take his receivers away from him, with all the hype about how vaunted this offense is teams are gunning for them, with bell back and some new plays on offense I think this was just a 1 time thing and this offense will get back on track if these young receivers start catching the ball, ben still threw for 229 yesterday regardless of the debacle with the young receivers, ben will be all right, he is still a competitor who likes to win...

No. The last 2 seasons have been great, I doubt he just falls off a cliff.

No, PWP, it won't be his last season. I think you are really Skip Bayless and just say outlandish things to get a rise and debate going.

    This.

The manner of the defeat was shocking, but seems to have shocked some people here into mutating into Real Steel.

    Just.... no...

Ben's issue is parallel to what we have seen Aaron Rodgers go through this far.

Both players are essentially playing two out of the three phases of football. When you put so much on yourself.. it sets you up for failure. Granted.. neither really have any sort of help from their defense whatsoever.. so for both to play defense ad well as offense is truly unfortunate and unfair.

    The biggest issue is this defense. Keith Butler now has this defense set up to have the interior lineman wreak havoc.. as further seen below;

Granted.. while Heyward and Tuitt are doing all they can.. the pedigree cannot be said for the edge rushers. Without Bud Dupree or James Harrison... this edge rushing corps flat out sucks.

If Butler is going to continue to use said defense.. they are going to have to find a player that can play both end and linebacker a la Preston Smith...

.. Luckily for them.. one of the most underrated pass rushers in the SEC fits that mold.

Maybe 1 more after this 1, but I don't see anymore than that ..I thought he had about 3 seasons left last season....The beating he took yesterday can't continue ...His age wont allow him to heal, I actually think he is playing hurt right now ...He can't play til 40 like those other guys , he has just took to many big shots ...

Yesterday was an anomaly, the Eagles got up fast and forced the Steelers into being forced to pass. Now this wouldn't have been bad except for the fact the Eagles got pressure with just 4 down linemen allowing 7 to drop into coverage. Most teams that do that get picked apart, sort of what Carson Wentz did because he had an average of 5 seconds to throw almost every snap while our QB was getting forced out in less than 3. Ben is fine, the o-line, WR, and defense really all played bad in addition to the QB.

No, he isn't 'past' his prime. He's lost Bell, Bryant and Heath Miller and has garbage Markus Wheaton as his #2 receiver with Coates a WIP. That said he played poorly yesterday, but then again so did 95% of the team.

While I don't think he is past his prime, it would be foolish to think that he won't have a shortened career as opposed to Brees/Brady/Manning. He has played behind some atrocious offensive lines, and he has taken a beating (not to mention stopping a car with his face). I think he is trying to play more within the confines of a normal NFL QB and trying to eliminate some of the shots he takes these days. Problem is, he was also off yesterday, which didn't help the situation either.

Might as well call the Oline out while were at it, AV was schooled and had a couple of penalty flags, pouncey had a couple of bad snaps and decastro was punked a couple of times and they gave up 4 sacks as well as they didnt run block for crap, seems like the whole coaching staff including munch and haley can take some credit for how unprepared this game plan was and for the lack of game time adjustments that was non existant, is it PANIC time, NO, it's too early for that, but it seems like the coaches and players have plenty to work on this week if they expect to show up against the chiefs this week....

I hope he can play more , but i just don't expect it ...I have never seen him look rattled like he was yesterday ..He has had bad games before ,but he still kept his feet planted and he still kept stepping into his throws ...Yesterday he was tap dancing and throwing a bunch off his back foot ...As I stated I wonder if he is playing hurt ?
