Iowa LB Jack Campbell

I like your thinking. Unfortunately I don’t think Campbell will be their at 49 now and I don’t think Brentz will be there at our third pick.

 

I agree. If We(Steelers) knew what the future with Tuitt.....Hargrave wouldn't have been let go. I know they played different positions, but they wouldn't have let the DL weaken like it did after losing both. So I agree.

 

You are probably correct.

 

Remember.....a lot of smoke screens going on. Remember last Year everyone, and their grandparents thought Malik Willis was our Qb ....because Tomlin loved Him so much????

 

What’s interesting is of the ILB’s you don’t here any buzz or any confirmation of them meeting with Jack Campbell. I have a feeling he is going to be high on their list. I think they are tired of messing around with that position.

 

You could be 100 % correct.

 

I've checked a few sites that have meetings list, and none of them have the Steelers meeting with either Campbell or Trenton Simpson, the only two LB's with any first round buzz.

Just to update this: Each team is allowed 45 official player meetings at the combine. WalterFootball (I know) has the Steelers meeting with 50 different players, so some of them must be unofficial. It also doesn't list any o-line, since they tend to lag a day behind. BehindTheSteelCurtain has a list of 43, which includes o-line.

 

After last year and Kenny Pickett it is almost better to look at who they have listed with.

 

They met with six inside linebackers at the Combine. Campbell was not one of them.

 

That's what I have been hearing too. Makes me sad. Was hoping for Brent's in the 3rd.

True. But in fairness, we all knew the pick was QB, just like we knew it'd be Najee Harris. And while ice come to like both players, I still hate both picks.

This would have been a splendid year to draft RB.
And granted, there maybe no year to draft QB if you continue picking . midtable.

It all worked out coz Pickens was the pick I wanted at 20 coz I thought he'd never make it to 54. Luckily he did. And we were no worse for taking a QB at 20.

I feel same will happen this year, it would be Bresee, or Joey Porter.. I'm praying both are gone by our pick.

We should cut Jack. He was barely better than Spillane. And no one thinks Spillane is a must.

Jack should be cut, whether we draft a LB or not. Get a cheaper better player.
