    DANG! That's really messed up that he had to go through that! Speaks well for America that even under such adverse conditions you can still overcome the odds and prosper in spite of your dire situation. Good for him and as for the deadbeats that leave their wives and kids it would do me well to hear that they spent a little time in a back alley with Jack Lambert and Mean Joe. Just keeping it real.

    I found this out about Gay's past recently, and it's given me a whole lot of respect for the man. Not just for the adversity he's overcome (as many do on a daily basis, and while they're not professional sportsmen, they're all heroes) but for what he's doing to help others who are still going through that adversity.
