We all know how bad our o-line is and we try to debate fixes like having Ben get rid of it quicker the way Manning and Brady do, well I had a chance to watch some games yeaterday and so I decided to write some stuff down and calculate it later in the day, this is interesting. We look at Brady as quick strikes but it really isn't true, his average time for getting rid of the ball yesterday was 3.6 seconds, on plays that took long to develop his average time before the pocket collapsed was 4.7 seconds, that was helped as he had several plays that he had 7 seconds or more when guys dropped into coverage. The same thing with almost every game I was watching except for the Eagles, if Foles didn't get rid of the ball in 2 seconds he was under pressure, yesterday our o-line performed much better than what the Eagles put on the field but way short of other teams. Yes, we know we aren't good up front but actually counting and watching and seeing it from other teams and then to fault our QB is flat out wrong, Tom Brady didn't complete a pass beyond 5 yards when he had pressure is less than 3 seconds, Jay Cutler actually got rid of the ball faster than Brady, even Manning wasn't as quick but he does a lot of timing in the 2.5 second range. The moral of this is story is how good our players actually are, from the QB to the RB to the WR, if we can operate under and actually move the ball with a line that is just about, if not, the worst line in the league, imagine what could be, and I also say this to those that keep saying Brady is so quick to get rid of the ball, he went down quick when anyone got close to him which wasn't often, he very seldom has to move and he holds on to the ball....A lot!
