Interesting find...Pat Fitzgerald

Looking at the

Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Chuck Bednarik awards; This guys name stands out:

Pat Fitzgerald

Dude won both in back to back years and didn't play a down of NFL football ever! It wasn't even due to injury!

Now granted it was still early in those awards history, but looking at some of the names that are on that list, there are some HOF'ers and some really solid to great NFL players.

Even if you take the ones that really didn't amount to much, from my look-ups most were due to injuries.

He was made HC of Northwestern at 31!

 

Hmmm.... interesting indeed.


I suppose this is why Northwestern has seen somewhat of a renaissance in recent years; Anthoy Walker Jr. being their prized pupil if I am not mistaken as of late.
