In short they agree that Tomlin set the defensive menu and that was the menu Butler ordered plays from. They do not believe Tomlin made all the defensive play calls himself.

@Formerscribe watch the video, like I have been saying all along it was done in certain situations, not all the calls.

Hmmm well if this is true I have no problem with this. This is actually what I expect.
Then what pray tell is Butler, and everyone else going on about???

I think Butler is saying 100% of the plays and coverages called (Moats is saying that's about 5 per game) is Tomlin because he is preparing them all and deciding the game plan.

If Tomlin called the defense or even 50% of the calls or overruled some calls, he should own it!! I am sure if they were #1 defense in the league, he wouldnt deny it or let Butler take the credit....just sayin!!!

Who sponsored those “You make the call” commercials that ran during NFL games in the ‘80s? Was it IBM? They’d show a tight or controversial play from games past and let you guess what the right call was. After the advert spiel, they reveal what the ‘right’ call was. “If you rules incomplete pass, you made the right call!!”

Was it Alcoa? Or were they the "Fantastic Finishes"? Maybe both?

Maybe instead of calling the defense he should focus on timeouts, clock management and challenges, since he s*cks at all of them.

Boi calm down. is there a time that you know of where Tomlin hasn't taken responsibility when asked about it?? I can name on one hand, if at all, where Tomlin ever threw one of his coordinators or players under the bus. Aside from that if you look at the Steelers defenses over the years this is the first time in a while where the Steeler defense hasn't finished top half of the league and there's only been three times his whole career here. I think it's pretty understandable why the defense was as poor as it was this year and I don't care what DC you would rather have had over this unit..nobody's a miracle worker. Also consider the fact that if the offense hadn't been as bad as it was maybe the defense would have looked and done a whole lot better.
