It is the Steelers' deepest position, but none of their other receivers can quite do what Johnson does. None of them can run routes as well or get separation as consistently, so it is a big loss if he can't go.

Matt Canada on Diontae Johnson: “We are counting on him being ready to go. Obviously, limited yesterday, but feel good about his progress.”

I'll take positive news where we can find it. I would love to see the Steelers at full strength for the Bengals. That certainly wasn't the case the first time the played them last year.

Wouldn't write him off just yet. Let's see how it goes when and if he comes back completely healthy.

When they drafted him my first thought was his size. I think it was a 4th round pick. After I saw he was 5'8" I was meh on the pick. Looked up his stats and was impressed a bit. I was confused with the pick but my pick hopes were round 1 QB. Next 5 picks O-line:)

Chuks is probably our best offensive lineman which isn’t saying much. If he can’t go the Kenny Pickett train might start around Q2 because Mitchell will be dead.

Looks like Dionte was still limited
Chuks was out with a back (never good trending down mid week)
Cam was off for veteran rest

wouldn’t be good if both Dionte and Chuks are out week 1. We have WR depth but as Scribe mentioned DJ is by far the best route runner and WR we have.

Mitch moves better than Pickett... Wouldn't he be dead too then?

Pickett moves very well, too. He is just more likely than Trubisky to hang in the pocket and take the hit to get the throw off.

LoL. Are You related to Trubisky??? You may say I'm a hater, but You are a....Hell I don't know what:shrug:, but no matter what is said about a Qb ....You chime in with Trubisky is better at it.
You sound Like I did with Ben , but at least He earned My respect as a Steeler. Trubisky hasn't played a meaningful down yet.
Also don't get Your panties all in a wad over this. Your still My Steeler family. I can disagree, and discuss things, and not hate a person, but honestly still like them .

This is 2022 NFL Football. No QB is getting killed. Calm down.

    Run blocking much bigger concern.

Quarterbacks can still take a beating. That may happen anyway, but it's going to be even worse if they don't have Okorafor.

What are you babbling about...He said Trubisky is gonna get killed, and Pickett will be in... Trubisky is faster / and more elusive than Pickett...So, Wouldn't that get Pickett get killed, even easier?

Your Trubisky hate is having you losing it old man...How about we play a game first, before we declare Trubisky dead...and Pickett the Savior

You got that from a couple series...playing against backups, in the preseason

Yes as they gently lay them down on the grass and put a pillow under their heads.

Kidding aside, the people acting like we will be down two QBs before the end of the half need to relax.

I also watched about half of his games in college, including most of last season. What we saw in those preseason series, more than a couple, by the way, was pretty much the same guy. He is faster and more elusive than you realize. He also does not shy away from contact.

I watched him too... He's good, had a great Senior year...I wouldn't call him elusive..He can move, and buy himself some time...

I would say he has average mobility ( which is 10's ) better than what Ben has given us for years

You asked if I got my evaluation of his mobility from a couple of series in preseason. Of course, he played more than a couple of series in preseason, but no, I didn't get my entire impression of him from those three exhibition games. He is more elusive than he was able to show in three games, though my primary point was that he is more mobile than many realize, he's also shown that he prefers to hang in there in the pocket and take a hit to get the pass away.

Because He hangs in the pocket more looking for a pass....some think He is slow...He is very elusive.
He just rather play Qb than Rb.
Most guys take off because they don't know what they are seeing.
The greatest only take off as a last resort, or 2 throw down the field.
Look at P. Mahomes for example...He is very mobile, but they hardly ever roll Him out by design, or run Him by design....Hell his Highest rushing in a season is only 381 yards, and He's pretty dang mobile.
    Anyway....all this 2 say I agree. LoL
