This is a pretty good explanation of the point I was just making about Rudolph.

I was thinking of trying to win the game (i.e. play the players that maximize the chances of winning), and not caring about if the org looks like dumbasses or not.

But I get the point that playing Trub *may* fit the longer term plans better. That is, Trub may be here next year and play if/when Pickett gets injured again.

How about winning the game on Sunday? Or are we now into tank-the-season mode?

I think Trubisky should start, but if he struggles, they should put Mason in at some point.

I mean You Guys are correct.
Let's go with Trubisky who is 1-3 as a Steeler with 4 tds, and 5 ints......Instead of the Qb(Mason) that is 5-4-1 as a Steeler with 16tds, and 11ints.
I mean what I'm I thinking:facepalm:....going with the better Steeler Qb if Pickett can't play. I must be out of My mind.
    LoL :lolol::roflmao:
No Freaking way Trubisky should start over Mason. Only people afraid they are, or were wrong about Mason, or want Us tanking want Trubisky over Mason. Period.

I'm not so interested in that part as I am in not wasting snaps on a guy who won't be there next year.

Or people who realize that it is better to play the guy who is signed for next year instead of the guy who is leaving as a free agent.

Also, your statistical comparison is an utter joke. If you are going to compare their entire careers, do that. Include what Trubisky did with the Bears. Otherwise, you are just using numbers that are intentionally misleading to try to prup up your terrible argument.

I’m not wrong about Mason, and I’m definitely not for tanking.

Mason just brings nothing to the table after the headshot he took, he is like a deer in headlights since then. What is Masons record since that hit?

    Mason 2019 wins

    2 against Bengals 2-14 record
1 win against Miami 5-11 record
1 win against Colts 7-9 record
1 win against Rams 9-7 record

So 1 win against a winning team and a tie against Lions 3-13-1 record

I'm not a big Trubisky fan, by any means, but I think he is better then Mason.

And you think playing Rudolph gives them the best chance to win? We've seen what these QBs bring to the table and they all suck. When your QB play is bad, the backup QB is always everyone's favorite player.

Agree, but as a fan, I don't think that is how the org will play their cards. Therefore, I can't see this turning into anything positive unless Trib starts and does well. However, starting Trib, we sort of know what we'll get. But the org will save face in that they brought him on for a reason and didn't make a mistake (although KP did replace him as starter). If Mason starts and does well, then the org looks like they don't know what they're doing not giving him a helmet all year. If Mason starts and does poorly and Trib gets in and does good or bad, then we're into cluster F territory which doesn't look good, and fans will want to see KP in the game with a super protective Darth Vader helmet. Let's hope we have a run game that lessens the need for any of our QB's to win the game. JMO>

You could say the same regarding Pickett. His wins this year are against TB, NO, Indy and TB - not a winning team in the lot. Mason during the 2019 season was almost exactly the same age as Kenny is right now. And like Kenny now it was his first starts.

Yes this is correct, Question is...will Kenny be another Mason? Only difference is, Mason had a few years in the system, Kenny hasn't.

fully agree it’s QB suckfest going on this year based on what we’ve seen: Trub and KP suck.

We haven’t seen Rudolph suck this year yet, so ya, there’s a flicker of hope that mason would suck less than Trub this Sunday.

at this point, I just want to have some hope of the QB not sucking when I wake up Sunday morning. Rudolph gives me that hope.

do you think Trub gives us the best chance to win?

Then I guess we’re officially tanking. Let neither QB get into any sort of rhythm or comfort zone with the game.

Trubinsky is getting too much money to be a back up. There were reports saying that he won’t settle for being a back up. Mason would and probably for a lot cheaper.

I'm showing as a Steeler. He is not a bear anymore.
Yeah ...because there is No such thing as a new contract. You talk about dumb.....Dumb would be bringing Trubisky back next year when He will cost even more. Again .....another person afraid to be shown wrong. LoL

Don't forget that the one Bengal game we were losing at halftime. Rudolph was benched for Hodges who rallied the team for a win.

Wrong again, STD. I would be happy for any player to prove me wrong if they actually helped the team. When Edmunds showed signs of progress, I praised him despite all of the fair criticism I have heaped on the guy for years. I would do the same for Rudolph if he earned it, which he hasn't done.

If Rudolph plays and plays well, that would make that new contract more expensive. I love the irony of you criticizing the intellect of others while failing to see such a simple issue.

The season is lost. Rudolph playing and sucking doesn't help them. Rudolph playing well doesn't help them, either. That is why putting him out there is a lose-lose situation.

If Trubisky plays poorly again, it does no real damage. They are done anyway. If he plays well, that raises the value of a player they have under contract. Again, I'm not sure why you are having such trouble with these concepts, but you really should pay better attention next time.

The way you insist on ignoring the entire resume of Trubisky when it suits your arguments makes me think even you see the flaws in your position. It is idiotic to evaluate Rudolph's entire resume, but ignore the majority of Trubisky's career. Trubisky has one season as a solid NFL starter under his belt. Rudolph doesn't.
