Injury Updates

TOMLIN said that both Wormly and Dangerfield are being evaluated and that the practice participation would determine their availability. Both guys are depth reserve options so not overly concerned.

He was more optimistic about both Hilton and D Watt saying they are trending in the right direction.

We appear relatively healthy heading into Sunday!

 

I think he said Dangerfield may be limited in the early part of the week. He is a reserve, but he’s a fairly key guy on special teams, so hopefully he’s good to go.

 

Actually he said Wormly was having an MRI on his knee and his participation would be determined after they knew the results.

 

Hilton not practicing today not a good start for his availability.

Most others should be back tomorrow

 

A little better today, but I don't like seeing UGIII on there.

 

Hilton moving up to limited is a step in the right direction. He will probably need to be full tomorrow to have a shot.

D Watt went in the other direction to limited from full so have to figure he’s doubtful at this point.

Both Dangerfield and Wormly will be out.

Also UG3 was out today so he could be out as well!

 

If Gilbert can't go, then Marcus Allen would probably be next man up, call up Jayrone Elliott.

 

Dulac is saying Hilton not expected to play Sunday. Good thing they didn’t trade Sutton.

 

UG3 missed a lot of last season with a back injury as well. Not sure if it’s related but out of practice again with a back injury.

The depth at ILB has to be a serious worry at this point. I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t made a trade. I’m not looking for a top tier guy like Deion Jones, just somebody that won’t kill you if they have to play.

 

They have until 11-3 to make a trade.

 

That’s right. With Covid protocols etc it would have made sense to make the move by now though if they were going to do it. Perhaps the injury to UG3 is not serious and they are happy with their guys.

Another medium to long term injury there would be a complete disaster is all I’m saying. We were all raising the depth there as an issue before the season, an injury to Bush or Vince was unthinkable at that point, but of course it has happened.

 

Yea I’m very concerned about ILB but as I mentioned in another thread I think we should be playing a lot more Nickle and Dime anyways. Have Edmunds and Hilton when healthy near the LOS to help with the run.

 

I love hilton. Dude is always around the ball . the instinct he has and speed will be missed against a mobile QB like LJ

 

Really going to need Minkah to get his head out of his behind and make some plays/tackles. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with him this year. He needs to step up this week and help chase Down LJ

 

I wonder if they run some packages like like week...They played a lot at ILB, and gave Highsmith more reps at OLB

Not sure who we trade for but bolstering depth is always good.

 

The two names I hear that might be available at ILB is Avery Williamson of the Jets, and Jarrad Davis of the Lions.

 

That's dreamland really. I mean you could probably search the expanded PS on all the teams and find someone of near equal quality that you do not have to trade picks for. Last year we traded for Vanette, this year Wormley...that is likely the kind of value you are going to get for a 4th or 5th round pick. The "somebody that won't kill you if they have to play' is unlikely available, unless they are willing to trade a top pick, no legitimate contender is going to trade a prime starter, those selling want top value.

It's a weakness the team will have to find a way to navigate through with who they have.
