What is the point of this board if we aren't going to analyze choices by the Steelers? They have questionable depth at outside linebacker right now while the one draft pick from this season that they cut is starting and playing well for the Giants. That is deserving of criticism.

He had one tackle in the first half. Also, Jordan Love sucks something awful.

Pull what crap, ask to get traded after it leaks they've been taking trade calls for him and cutting his playing time?

You don't know the sequence of events leading up to Ingram wanting out, I bet he let the team know he wanted to be traded, before they started taking calls about him.

Not according to the timeline of articles, not according to what former LB Art Moats said on his show.

Teams take calls on players all the time. That they listened before saying no means nothing. Ingram has been in the league long enough to know that. You are trying to prop up a non-story to legitimize Ingram's desire to leave.

He wanted to leave because his playing time was decreasing. He was never going to take snaps away from Watt, and Highsmith is also playing well enough that they don't want him coming out of the game as much now that he is healthy. The Steelers definitely made mistakes. Cutting Roche was one. Giving in to Ingram's grumbling was another. Your posts would hold up better if you weren't making up parts of your narrative.

He should have taken snaps away from both - neither plays 100% of the snaps. A good rotation would have kept everyone fresh for the stretch run, but Tomlin grinds his starters to nubs every year, which partly explains all the late season collapses lately.

That would have to be a heftily detailed explanation to be persuasive.

When they were hurt, he played. When they returned, they started shopping him and cut his snaps.

Players wear down as the season goes on.

He had that deer in the headlights look the whole game and I don't recall ever seeing another QB with it as bad as that.

He had exactly one game in which his snaps were down. Actually, they have been rotating guys in at outside linebacker for years, even when they didn't have competent backups. Of course, you won't let facts get in the way of a good narrative.

Teams calling the Steelers and the Steelers not hanging up on them is not the same thing as shopping the guy.

The HC doesn't decide playing time for every starter like that, the coordinators can sub out players if they want to.

That makes no sense for them to be shopping him unless he made it known he wanted out, knowing they didn't have much depth at OLB besides Ingram.
