A lot of people see Sunday as a "cheat day" during Lent. Like I said, it wasn't my idea.

I am going to be estatic if the team can nab him for the low, low, low cost of nothing via not moving anywhere to nab him. That said, I still will be happy if the team elects to trade up for him. Eight games or not, Amarius Mims' talent and potential are simply too gifted and too abnormal to pass up. As I have said in my sig:

    "Broderick Jones cranked to 11."

Dude can flat out play... but will need even more time than Broderick did to be ready.

I forget who it was during the combine that said Mims looks like he was created out of a lab to play right tackle.

It was me. I haven’t watched any tape on him other than just watching on live Tv during the season, so I’m not at the point of making him a draft crush, but man oh man does he have that size, length and even the movement that you want on the right side. Big dude with loooong arms.

6'8" 340 with an 87" wingspan, and still at that size ran a 5.0 forty.

It doesn't seem to be that at all. Teams project offensive linemen all the time. That there has been talk of three centers going in the first round tells us this is a strong group at the position, at or at least a top-heavy one.

He is a freakish athlete, but the guy started only eight games for Georgia, six in 2023. He was hurt a lost in 2023.

If they drafted Mims, I doubt he would start right away, they like Moore at LT for some reason which means Jones will be the starting RT.

Well, I was going off the presently available information at the time.

Now strike the QBs :) And the order remains the same.

It's Tackle, Center, and WR with B as a long shot.

Personally, id draft a Tackle if one of Mims, Latham, or Fuaga make it to 20. My sense is none will .

Center is the obvious pick... JPJ . And the Steelers often do the obvious. So if he is there, it's almost a guarantee. It's like Najee pick. We all knew it was going to be RB... To my disappointment. But thank God he has been decent.

Now if no Tor JPJ, I think ( Quinton Mitchell or Kool Aid ) might entice the Steelers over a WR. Seeing as there are so many WRs with 1st/2nd grade. ( About 16). So you are almost guaranteed one in the 2nd and possibly at 84...

But Thomas, Coleman Adonai Mitchell are all very possible 1st round choices id the tackles and JPJ are gone.

We need Moore to go to the bench and become emergency back up. That guy blow key plays and I would rather go Jones at left which is is natural position and draft a stud for RT. If we go Moore again, I don't expect RW to make through the season or he will be doing his best KP imitation most games.

I hope we take cooper dejean. He might not be there at 20? If not dejean then Wiggins. Alot of you will say mims are the center from oregon. I say get a corner first. Then get a center in the 2nd round.

He would be a nice addition, but it would cost too much to trade up to get him.

Yes, top heavy is a better term than thin. There are several good centers available, but after them the pickings get slim quickly. If any one of the top three centers fell to 20 and the Steelers took them, I would be well pleased. Wide receivers are a bit deeper, so if they took a center in 1 and a WR in 2 I would not cry.

this is part of why I stated very early in this thread that it is nuts to start 1st round draft projections until FA is well under way. I was just having some fun!!

This is a dumb reason, but I want a center with the first pick so I can sleep easy that Thursday night, and not have to sweat out watching them go to later picks before our 2nd rounder.

    Doesn’t matter

I think I became persona non grata in the Catholic Church when I got married to a divorced methodist by a Korean lady in a Presbyterian church

    After that things got weird

If we don't get Powers Johnson in the first and still have 10 picks to go in the second with Zach Frazier on the board, I will be sweating bullets.

Creed Humphrey lasted until near the end of the second round, they can move up in the second round to get a center if they want to.
