I'm worried about our locker room

I'm worried this is all getting way too much air/computer time when the "anonymous player" could have very well just have been a reporter trying to make a story and stating the obvious but add the anonymous player and now you got something....Our locker room has lost most of our vocal leaders in the past 2 years and that had to do with our 8-8 record and it's only gonna get worse leadership wise..Within the next year or two this D will possibly loose Harrison,Keisel,Hampton,Foote,Lewis (this year)Clark, Ike,Troy..could be gone the next year..

I wish one of us had the time to do some thorough research on this. Indeed, until a few years ago, there was no Twitter. Until the mid-90s, there was no internet. Until 1979, there was no ESPN. I don't remember a teammate criticizing Franco for running out of bounds; I believe it was Jim Brown.

Under Noll, I only remember a handful of issues: Mel Blount holding out; Ernie Holmes's incident with the police helicopter and then cocaine bust; Andy Russell criticizing Bradshaw for being a child; Joe Greene leaving the team for a short period after a loss to Houston in 1974. But by and large: it was a tight locker room.

Under Cowher, there were issues with Eric Greene, Bubby Brister being an outspoken critic because he was benched in favor of O'Donnell, Hardy Nickerson's constant whining about his contract, Greg Lloyd publicly attacking the offense toward the end of the 93 season, rumors about Kordell being gay, Faneca shooting his mouth off about a rookie at QB (Roethlisberger). I'm sure there are many others.

But now we live in an era of 24/7 sports news cycles. It's what we operate in. But this also leads one to wonder how/why the players can't seem to adjust their behavior accordingly.
