I'm so tired of Bell vs Conner

when its our stellar O-Line thats makes them look good as they do we need both of them we could have the best 1-2 punch maybe ever

 

Problem is we don't use a 1-2 punch..... when bell is in he gets roughly 95% of the total touches at the position, and I can count on one hand how many touches conner's backups got in this game with fingers left over

 

that's on Tomlin. Just ridiculous. you need to throw 1-2 backs with different styles so the defense doesn't adjust. Bell/conner would be perfect for that. Bell is patient and conner hits fast. then have another back to spell one of them when tired. that's it.

 

This!!! If Tomlin or the OC would sub in a few other players we wouldn't be in this mess. 400 touches 2 years in a row is a crap load of punishment on the body. Hell, Conner had 36 touches. Probably fumbled cause he was tired. 36 touches in the first game. 36*16=576 touches over the season.

 

I've been screaming for that since bell got here... Lambasted as well for doing so. It's 2 fold, you don't want your stud on the sideline but at the same time, you don't want him wore the F out! That's where unnecessary injuries occur on top of just being less productive when your flat out exhausted. This coach has no idea about preservation of certain athletes I mean he'll look at Ben!!! When he's hurt and shot out Tomlin still lets him go out on the field even when the guy can't protect himself. Rotations and blows matter not under this current regime. It's maddening to say the least.

 

If Conner becomes 75 percent of the all around back Bell is by seasons end I’ll be ecstatic.Too early to say after one game but it does look promising!Who knew Bell would of pulled this crap to this extent in the off season?We could of used that cap space on defensive free agents and let Bell walk if we had a crystal ball!

I’ve always thought it was a mistake to have so much of your offense based around one player. When he’s out, you are screwed. Bell gone is addition by subtraction. Get others involved and let him go screw up another team.

 

I'm right there with you screaming about overuse of BELL and last game with Conner. Tomlin is actually horrible with giving backs a little rest and he doesn't see the benefits resting a series or two, or showing a different type of running backs to the defense, like Bettis and Parker or Franco and Bleier.

 

The second half of the game Conner was less effective.. He literally lost his burst so yes i agree he was tired. I dont understand why you have 3 rbs on the team and give all the work to Conner.. Surely to god they could spell him off a time or two for a change of pace and give the dude a freakin rest
