Well I can't stand Stephen A Smith and I can see why Ike would be mad about that. That being said, I hope Ike doesn't come to this board because we sometimes have a tendency to mention his ball skills... or lack thereof...

I can't wait for sunday night this is going to be a war. The Steelers play their best when pissed off. First all the tebow BS,, then big mouth Sapp saying we won't make the playoffs, now this. Keep it coming you're only feeding the Beast!! We need somebody to say something bad about Dick Lebeau and his useless game plan last fall, so this time around he'll throw the kitchen sink at Manning.

Well, we all know that Ike played his worst game of his career during the Broncos game last year. Most of us tore Ike and Lebeau for their game plan or lack thereof. Let's hope, Ike responds and the outcome is better.

I don't particularly care fo Stephen A. Smith but, he didn't say anything untrue . He of course sensationalized with the "banished" comment. But that was one of the worst performances I've ever seen, at least from a Steeler corner. I think Ike is a decent corner, he's not as top notch as some think and not as poor as some would have you believe. I'd say at this point in his career he's a serviceable #1 in a predominantly zone scheme. Note to Ike, the only things potentially messing with your money are your poor hands and getting torched by Tim Tebow on a national stage.

    Go Burgh! :towel:

well i hate smith as much as anyone.. if hes on ATH i mute him.. hes a conceited jeek.. but i thin hes right ... we do lose the game sunday without harrison and mostly ryan clark.. i've said it here a dozen times.. we lose without clark.. hes that important and the NFL always schedules the games in denver.. so he never gets to play (i knw the playoffs just fell that way.. im talking reg season games) ..... so i agree we wil lose the game.. but not liek 37-7 or whatever he said .. more like 27 - 17 .. if it was in any city but denver where clark could playi think we win .. or at elast its a game close and decided on the final drive.. why would anyone watch smith and skip... they are terrrrrrrrrrrrrrible

yeah I was one of them ,,I wanted Ike gone and Lebeau to retire.

So far I'm liking the D, Lebeau has brought back some of the exotic blitzes. But I've always find things don't stay consistent on D, right when we think they finally got all the wrinkles sorted out they go back to the old same boring habits. Pitts put brady to sleep last year and that was the only game where everything clicked, after that game our corners were back to playing 15 yards away from the line of scrimmage, our LBs were just standing around waiting around for the snap like all the other boring D's in the league, no movement around the line to mess the QB up.

Although some of that stuff was true, Ike has a reason to be mad.

One thing I can't stand is the way these idiot NFL (and NBA) players talk and write. These guys talk like their businessmen now (at least when they want a contract they do) yet they talk and write like they're in the hood still. 30 year old men talking like they're 19 year old gangsters. It's just ridiculous.

Stephen A. Smith is a blow hard who thinks way too highly of himself. He's so annoying, he sometimes actually makes me side with Skip Bayless sometimes! :frustrated: But I get what he's trying to do. Ever since Cosell, there has always been a force of sportscasters going out of their way to be edgy, or controversial. It gets them attention.

And he's not totally wrong about Ike. Ike had the worst game of his career against Denver last January. You think Ike doesn't know that? The thing is, the whole defense screwed the pooch. It isn't like Ike was the only one. It was a complete team failure. They gambled, and they lost. Maybe they gambled out of desperation knowing the offense was going to be gimped. Maybe it was hubris. The result stands either way.

But S.A.S. took it a bit too far yesterday. You never get personal. I don't blame Ike one bit for getting angry. All I hope is that Ike unleashes that anger on Sunday night.

What i seen during the preseason (and it's only preseason) Lebeau was sending blitzes and that's the only way we can get pressure. It takes more energy from the defense and after a while they get tired and the other team marches down the field. Especially during the Colts game. Hopefully we can generate some pass rush with Woodley, Hood, Kiesel and Carter.

Well, well, well, I see S.A.S. pissed some people off on this board because of his comments about Ike Swaggin Taylor. First of all, S.A.S. is alright with me. He tells the truth like it needs to be told just like he did about Ike's play against the Broncos in that game. Like he said, he gets paid to critique the performance of players as a part of what he does for a living. Some people don't like it but for the most part he does what he does real good.

Now for real, the person that most people don't like is "SKIP BAYLESS" because he has no clue. He always makes unrealistic and outrageous comments that don't make any sense. As we all know he is a big Tebow fan. Bayless is the biggest joke on sports TV!

But what S.A.S. told Ike is so true, his play in that game was totally unexceptable, one of the most HORRIFIC performances I've ever seen from a CB in NFL HISTORY. He also told Ike, Please know that I will compliment you in a Heartbeat when you do something good. But if you're ever perform that GOD-AWFUL again, I'm going to call it like I see it.

S.A.S. gets it. There should be more sports people like him who gets it and tells it like it is which pisses people off. Much Props to S.A.S.!!!

Steve brings up some good points. He is suppose to write and critique and players are to play ball. Ike did stink but it was really only one bad game and a worse game because it was playoffs.

Dick and the defense decided Tebow was not going to throw. Guess what they got toasted and Ikes was the worst of the bunch with the worst possible outcome.

I love Ike and I think he is an excellent corner. He is pretty damn close to a shutdown corner as we have seen in a very long time. That play in particular he looked like William Gay. Dare I say lol

I think of Smith as more of an NBA guy and was kinda surprised to hear him talking NFL. But since people are also talking about sportscasters they despise I've never actually heard this guy on the radio but just seen him on NFL network countdown shows and he's from Pittsburgh and I think his name is Mark something but he seems like the biggest jerk and moron I've ever heard. He just comes off as elitist and holier than thou. He even talked about Steeler Nation as a "term that he hates" and just other stuff that gives the impression that he's the greatest and most informed of all sportscasters. Maybe his last name is Madden but I just can't think of it. He even said on NFL network that Hockey was the best sport. So why would that guy be talking smack like he's a Steelers expert?

I know some sportscasters try and SEEM abrasive and incendiary( jim rome comes to mind) but Madden really seems like an actual piece of crap to me. There is no likable quality to him whatsoever. Does he actually have a dedicated fanbase within the Pittsburgh area? He just seems to me like he's a huge wannabe shock jock.

The worst part is that lately, whenever NFL Films or the NFL network wants to run pieces on the Steelers, they always trot that assclown out as some kind of expert on the subject. :frustrated:

Dude I know! I'm always like "why do they have this guy?" I don't even get the impression from him that he's actually a Steelers fan! And he's definitely not a fan of the fans.

No clue how Mark Madden is still on TV. He just yells and blasts everything and everybody. Never heard him say anything worth listening to. He never actually breaks down plays or evaluates talent.

S.A.S. is ok by me, he tells it like it is as he did with Ike. And please please Ike, if you are going to fire back at these guys, at least let something intelligent fall out of your mouth, and speak like a grown up too, it's embarrassing.
