I'll have to see it to believe it. Dupree disappears in games. Non factor for the most part.

If he plays the next game like last game then I would expect the following five games to be hit and miss.

In the past yes but I haven't seen him play like last game before. That's the if part. With the speed added on defense and the corner situation looking better, if bud plays like this I can see the expectations rising.

.... and a contract year for Dupree. We may see moderate improvement from him over last year, but nowhere near Pro Bowl caliber performance.

IDK about that, over the years how many times have we seen a player (league wide) have a break out year when FA was looming. All pro level, no, but pro bowl level is really not out of his range..and that could lead to a 60 million guaranteed contract for some desperate owner.

Tomlin & Butler will give him ample opportunity to be an allpro. Id rather see ola on passing downs.

    Edit: running downs also.

It doesn't. He is what he is until he isn't (and that means in real games).

I did see an up and in move that has been lacking from bud. Why he finally learned it now but not in the past or used it in the past is intriguing to me. It is what has been missing instead of just climbing the arc. I have never seen him do this. Why now? It's very effective. The best do it effectively and bud never did until now. Maybe TJ did read jjs notes to him. I never thought bud was terrible in the run game. I do agree that we need to wait and see.

What if Bud made first team All Pro, Pro Bowl, and Defensive player of the year.
How much would you be willing to give him to keep him in a new contract?

    All What ifs lol

He can get dbl digit sacks just batting clean up for Cam and TJ. They collapse the pocket and chase the QB toward him.

If Buds out there yes, sp teams also. Had seen enough of Dupree, great stats against KCs backup. Watch the film, still cannot turn the corner like our Rolb needs too. Give someone else a chance, Buds not the answer.

Sadly, Butler will have him drop in coverage 60% of the snaps.......

Considering Bud Dupree has YET to actually develop this critical tool called an inside counter, I am not 100% sure. I would love for him to be resigned. That being said, I have every reason to believe he will not.

I don't mean to pop you guy's bubble or pump the brakes on your realistic review of his performance on Saturday but he played against the KC starters. It was their starting OL, their two top backs, the reigning MVP, Kelce, and Hill. He also played vs Henne but they didn't swap the OL out that fast.

My bubble isn't burst. Dupree sucks as a starter period. Watch the film.

Oh heavens no. I would take Hargrave over Bud in a heartbeat. Hargrave's issue in Pittsburgh has never been his talent. The issue lies in his abilities with the scheme he is playing. How Pittsburgh runs their Hybrid 3-4 does not cater to nor bode well for him. In addition, should he go to another team who is primarily utilizing the 4-3 as a base for sub packages, Hargrave does not have to EVER worry about being subbed out as he will always have playing time. The 3-4 utilization in Pittsburgh's sub packages limit and ultimately stymie Hargrave's abilities to get on the field for the most part.

The other aspect is that he is a Nose Tackle in our scheme. Within that same vein, Cameron Heyward, as listed on the official Steelers site, is listed as a Defensive Tackle. In a 4-3 barring it is not primarily a 4-3 Under base defense (the famous Seattle Seahawks archetype), Hargrave gets exponentially more playing time.

That's fine I just wanted to point out that he wasn't going against guys who will be moving furniture or signing XFL contracts next month. As someone else said he is what he is until he isnt

If my memory isn't failing me, Dupree got his sacks against their backup tackle. A tackle that didn't have a very good game. Chuks was better that game.
