That's where the disconnect between owner and coach is. BB wants to move forward proving his way works no matter the personnel. Kraft knows Brady sells tickets, luxury boxes, and lots of merch. If Brady retires as a Patriot, Kraft still reaps rewards from it, if he goes elsewhere it cuts into that revenue stream.

Maybe because the guy is an unlikeable douchebag? I've had little issue with many of the other greats.

I'm sure Brady would love nothing more to play for Coach Popcorn. Of course maybe Brady could yell at him and ask seriously why are you a head coach in this league?

Outside of the Pittsburgh fanbase, many people think the same of Ben. For us, as long as he wins, we can overlook certain things

Rumours have come out saying that he might be going to the Chargers. Cry me a River is done... Marsha can still play, other than Edelman he had nobody else to throw to.

Yeah saw the quotes that Brady said he has more to prove. Yeah like what? That's obsession at this point, move on with your life. And of course the article states what more could the greatest quarterback of all time have to prove? Seriously can the media outlets stop calling him that? Not all of us agree. And to let yourself be called that and want to be called that shows what a douche he is.

"let yourself be called that"? Huh. He didn't write these articles and I haven't heard him asking that that be a title or something. What do you want? For him to make a public statement "Please stop calling me the greatest ever"? If he did that, you'd be the first one to call him out for being disingenuous and that it was actually a call for the media to call him that. C'mon man. Be reasonable.

As for wanting to be that, he is a professional athlete for pete's sake. They're all competitive as hell. To degrees that average folks have no idea. You don't get to be that good for that long without being competitive.

As for being a douchebag, once again let's be real. The guy has never been in trouble with the law. The guy has regularly taken less money than he deserves to help the team. Since 2014 he's never been in the Top 10 amongst QBs in cap hit. Before you toss that aside due to Giselle, athletes use salary as a way to keep score and measure the respect they're getting, so taking less is voluntarily is not insignificant. Hell, Ben is the third biggest cap hit of all QB's right now. You think maybe he could help the team by taking less? He ain't doing that.

If the Rooneys had a stadium deal with Ben letting him peddle lets say Big Ben's donuts, he was would make more money & play for less. Way off base with the plays for less, oh my hero! Brady is a douche.

    Hey MeanJoeBlue.

I for one have been on record about the need for a "Veteran" Back-up QB. However, I for one, just for the record (and by no means being argumentative) have never as you quoted:

"claiming that it is easy to get a starter-capable backup QB for cheap".

Trust me, I completely realize that there is no such thing today, for the most part, as a "cheap" quality Back-up Veteran QB. It is hard enough trying to find a quality starter as it is. I have also been on record to be down for Brady and even a step further, for me, Andy Dalton.

Some of he big problems with this whole situation are as follows:

    • We do not know in what "Form" Ben is going to return: Pre-injury Ben, I hope.
    • If we sign a Brady or Dalton, and Ben returns just fine, then what? Is either, Brady, Dalton or any other prior starter going to want to play second fiddle to Ben? I definitely can not see Brady wanting to. Maybe Dalton, for a short stint. Even to further complicate things, lets say we sign Brady and Ben is fine, is this still Ben's team? I would have to think yes. Definitely a Ben's team with a Dalton signing.
    • Then how about Mason? Where does he stand in all of this? I personally like the guy but given a choice, I would start Brady, or Dalton, any day over him for now. I still think the guy can be good at the NFL level. Duck, no. I thought Duck's success at his collegiate level was going to be the surprise find but have come to the realization it will probably never happen. However, as long as he wears the B & G I am pulling for the guy.
    • Finally, as another poster pointed out, we probably could not afford a Brady or Dalton caliber QB anyway.

Marsha probably hit the mid life crisis stage. Thinks he still in his 30's until he gets sacked and feels 42 again.(43 in Aug) Maybe he wants to move on and try to prove that he can win without Belicheat. Chargers are going into a new stadium they need somebody to fill the seats. Would suck but be good for the stadium if they got Marsha and AB.

I just read an article about that, where he might land in free agency, and we were last on the list at #12. Colts sounds right to me. Bears another. Titans if Tannehill tests the market and signs elsewhere.

Well they finally had to let Garoppolo go waiting on Brady, now they have a guy (don`t remember his name) who looked like a Brady clone in the preseason. I think they really want Brady to retire and don`t really want him back IMO. We will see.

Please. Montana was asked one time if he was the greatest of all time and he scoffed at that and basically said please don't say that. Brady doesn't say anything so he's ok with it. And the fact that so many media outlets use it tells me that he wants them to use the phrase. Hell he probably trademarked it. Some humility goes a long way. And all time? That suggests there will never be anyone better so I guess they can predict the future.

Well he did try and trade mark "Tom Terrific" so there's that. I don't know if he didn't realize that was Tom Severs nickname but to his credit, he did drop it after getting pushback. He could have easily went through with it.

He also left his pregnant girlfriend for Giselle, so I'd say he's a little bit of a douche at least. Plus his interview about deflategate, wasn't a good look for him.

Trade Rudolph, Lynch, and Duck for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Going with two QB's is risky but as we sit now, we are done if Ben gets hurt anyway, so we are actually carrying only one QB now with four roster spots.

I would take Dalton as a B/U,, but at what cost? Labriola has a great article on league /bu's on the steelers.com site. When you see the top teams and the bu's they have, it puts the whole thing in focus. Few teams who are paying top dollar for their starting QB have a bu worth squat.

I understand that Fitzmagic throws a few picks but he also has some magic and would be interesting to watch as opposed to the guys who scare the **** out of you every time they drop back:cool: And keep in mind, he only plays if Ben is hurt.

Let me help you with that:cool: Remove Rudolph, Duck, and Lynch and insert Fitzpatrick and two more roster spots ..... then play last year over again. The only potential negative is that Myles Garret doesn't get banned for attempted murder, and we probably make the playoffs.....for one game:lolol:
