Do you think Ben actually WOULD go ahead and retire then? I still say no. I just started thinking about that and wanted to see what others say about it. I say there's no way he's retiring right now and I don't even think he would retire if we won it all next year. I guess what made me think about it was when Gisele supposedly asked Brady to retire and he said no. I know he's older than Ben but I still think Ben has some really good years left in him and wouldn't retire. What say you guys?

I think it all depends on what Ben changes his career goals to. If he wants three SB'S and no SB MVP then he retires. If he still wants them then he stays.

He was actually asked the last time we made it how many Super Bowls he wanted and he said "One more than the next guy". If that's the case then I think he will be here for a lonnnnnng time. LOL!

He may. That's why we need to draft the next Tom Brady in the sixth round this year. :thumbs up:

That was more of a possibility then, now the window is closing ever so quickly. Might still be possible but it would take a run of epic proportions. I say he gets another and the coveted MVP and walks away.

I dont think Ben's mind will be the reason he retires, it'll his body shutting down.

Meaning, as long as he can play he will, IMO...

Honestly Ben is a diva. He starves for attention. Either retire so your franchise can move forward or be quiet.

It all depends, if he feels he could contribute maybe not. These professional
athletes with these big ego's always think they are better than what they are. The end is near for #7 Even more important for the Steelers organization to have some sort of succession plan.

The Gilbert trade was a 2018 6th. So we're free to draft the next Brady in the 6th this year.

I think if he is retiring before his contract ends it will be after 2 more seasons with 1 left on the deal. Of course a major injury can change that but thats just my hunch.

The only way this team wins it all next year is if they adopt a "Must go 19-0" attitude. They must look at every single game as a must win from game 1 all the way through to a Superbowl victory. It's either that or go back up to New England and more than likely come away with the same results.

I don't see us winning another super bowl for a long time.

    Ben is old
    Bell gets hurt too much
    Brown is a diva
    Bryant smokes too much
    Other receivers suck
    Defense is overrated
    Tomlin can't beat bill, 2011 didn't count

    Jk we win it all

If the Steelers win it all next year, I would bet he retires.

I think he would give it some really good thought. He's already thinking about it and to win another SB I think he would say I'm done. You have to think it's not just about the love of the game. He's taken a beating in his long career. I'm sure all the little nagging injuries and the thought of CTE plays hard on him. Although you truly never know how a person thinks. He could win another SB and play 3-4 more years or retire.

I'd say in order for them to understand that every game is either must win or means nothing they need look no farther than the posts of a certain troll here. LOL!

The super bowl window has closed shut for old Ben. Plus Tomlin is no Belincheat. Case close.

Actually, if they win it all next year, I doubt Ben would retire. He'd have had a good, fun year and he'd want to repeat it.

However, if they don't win, if next yr is a dissapointment, if it's frustrating, if he's getting beat up. If there don't seem to be an upside, he might decide to call it a day.

If they adopt a "Must go 19-0" attitude they will be certainly disapointed. Do you think these guys don't try to win every game now? If you think the difference between thus years Stillers and this years Pats is simply attitude, I could not agree less.
