Someone on this inept coaching staff needs to be shown the door. I will also not watch a single goddamn playoff game if we do not make it.

8-7-1 is very possible at this point. Steelers could easily lose 4 out of the last 5 since 3 of those teams have better records, better defenses and more consistent offenses.

Who goes first then if we ****ing blow it? I think Butler is the shown the door and Tomlin's ass will be on the hot seat.

There not going 8-7-1 man.. There still a top 5 team who will win 10-11 games then play a team they should beat at home in the playoffs and lose.. Just par for the course. Like I said a more successful version of the Bengals at this point

The entire defensive staff needs to go, IMO... from Butler down to the waterboy. They need to start from scratch... keep Watt, Hilton, Haden, Hargrave and Heyward. Williams for depth. Scrap the rest and go 4-3. Bring in Alabama/SEC D-lineman, to go with Heyward and Hargrave, who are NFL-ready from day 1. Get the best corner and safety possible in Free Agency with the big pile of money we saved from the Bell fiasco.

We are very capable of either winner or losing the next two games. The Rats are on a 2 game winning streak and could flip this division on its head. Cincy is is free fall right now (Hue bringing it to Cincy) while the Stains are showing life again. Imagine ending up 3rd in the division behind Rats and Stains. Now this Denver loss could come back to haunt usl Denver's remaining sched is cake and they could be a factor in the wild card race against us and have the tie breaker. We needed the win yesterday.

They won’t go 8-7-1. Worst case scenario I think they go 3-2 in these last 5 games and finish 10-5-1 and that will be more then good enough to still win this division. At this point the division is in absolute no danger of the Steelers not winning it. They are still 1.5 up on the Ravens and 2 games up on them in the loss column with 5 games to play. The Ravens aren’t going to make that up.

I'm so sick of people talking about tie-breakers. The Steelers have a tie in their overall record and will not be involved in any tie-breakers of any kind unless another contending AFC team ties a game. head-to-head, division, conference records dont mean a damn thing because of the tie in our overall record. The ONLY team we could tie in the standings is the Browns

If this team goes 8-7-1, then the 6-game winning streak was a mirage and they are nowhere as good as they looked at times.

But seriously, it's hard to think that they can lose to lousy Cincy team that will have completely quit by seasons end. And I know they ALWAYS struggle in Oakland, but the Raiders are a true dumpster fire. That's 2 wins. I gotta think they'll at least split home games vs LAC and NE. So 10-5-1 seems reasonable, 9-6-1 is worst case.

But hypothetically, I'm sure if they fall apart and go 8-7-1, some changes will get made - and what those are would depend on how they got to 8-7-1.

3-2 over the final 5 I think is where this one is headed:

    - beat LA, they aren't really *that* good, especially without Gordon
    - lose to NE, well, because Bill Belichik game planning vs Tomlin game planning. That, and Gronk is going to murder us to the tune of 3 TDs all by himself.
    - Saints. I don't see this one going well. Either we're on the wrong side of a blowout, or this will be a Vegas nightmare. Either way, I think we come away with an L
    - Oakland. Please. If they can't beat this team, we don't deserve to be in the post season
    - Bengals. See Oakland reasoning above

This topic feels like a bit of an overreaction. Were you sitting on this anger for the entire five game winning streak waiting to post?

I can never read you. Is this just part of your "downer" shtick, or do you honestly feel that way? If this team were to finish 1-4 it would be absolutely SHOCKING. Anything is possible, but 8-7-1 is beyond highly unlikely.

Chargers are playing good football and have their best team since mid to late 00's. Steelers haven't won in Oakland since Seinfeld and X-Files were on TV. The Patriots own the Steelers and will likely continue ownership. The Saints are currently the best overall team in the NFL. So yes, it could happen and I wouldn't be surprised.

Nothing is a given, but this particular Raider team will be the worst Raider team the Steelers have faced in recent memory. I think Gruden is more worried about playing for draft positioning than he is winning at this point. The Steelers will win that game.

As for NO and LAC, I highly doubt fans of those teams are thrilled about playing the Steelers either. It goes both ways. Its not like the Steelers are some pushover that other teams look forward to playing.

NE is a different story. I know quite a few Pats fans. They actually do look forward to playing the Steelers. They laugh at us. Hopefully that changes this year.

chargers on primetime after a bad steelers loss at home, we win that one.

patriots/new Orleans= we win one of these.

bungles/raiders = we own the bengals and normally we lose to raiders but they are tanking.

    5-0 = highly unlikely
    4-1 = best case
    3-2 = likely
    2-3 = doubt it
    1-4 = highly unlikely
    0-5 = fire tomlin lol

Holy cow! We had a six game winning streak then we lose a game and now you’re freaking out?
We might finish 7-8-1. Who the **** knows. Stop overreacting over **** that hasn’t even happened yet.

I hope you're right. Raiders had some awful teams in 2012 and 2013 and they laid a whoopin' on the Steelers. Those games were more painful to watch than yesterday's Denver game. It really is like the Steelers forget how to play football when they arrive in Oakland. Maybe it's a curse? Something in the water? Jet-lag? Voodoo? Hell... I don't know.

    Pittsburgh going 8-7-1?

    ......

Barring any cataclysmic injury to Ben, not happening. Pittsburgh will make the playoffs for certain. Way too much talent on this team to falter that hard at this point. Besides, outside of Bill Belichick, no other coach has a better record of the final two months of the season over the past three years like Mike Tomlin.

One loss is going to question whether or nor not we capture the two seed. One loss, however, does not mean we have been eliminated from contention.

    Again....

You're more positive than me. I think it's either gonna be 3-2 or 2-3... in that range. Just can't see 5-0, 4-1 or even 0-5.
