I'm with you 110% at LEAST! People are also overlooking the fact that some of his passes were thrown in to flat out busted coverage and the one to Thomas at the end was ALL Thomas but they're acting like Manning threw this beautiful long ball in to perfect position. QBs in general get a lot more credit than they deserve. Remember Flacco against the Chargers last year when it was like 4th and 29 and he throws a little 2 yard pass in to the backfield to Ray Rice and Rice gets a first down out of it? That's a prime example of what I'm talking about.

Is this supposed to be hard to answer? Manning shrinks in the post season and thats what you play for, I'll take Ben. Regular season, Manning is one of the best ever but I can think of several QB's I'd take in the post season before him.

QB's deserve all the credit they get. The OC may call the plays, but a lot of QB's adjust the play at the line so that it's successful. Manning is the king of this and has been known to adjust the protection with 1 second to go on the clock. Manning is constantly adjusting the play or changing it altogether based on what he sees of the defence. So when a guy is open, it's just as much a result of the QB as it is the play itself. He also has to read the defensive coverage within 2-3 seconds and find an open man, or put the ball where only his receiver can get it. I'm not going to get into the Manning vs Ben argument, I'm just saying, Manning deserves some credit for setting an NFL record, and QB's in general deserve all the credit they get. They have by far the hardest job in the league. That is why the great QB's are great every year regardless of the team around them.

Shrinks in the post-season? He has a better completion percentage than Ben, better passer rating and has a better TD to INT ratio than Ben. I don't know how people can say he shrinks in the post-season and Ben doesn't when he has better numbers than Ben. Of course his numbers aren't going to be as good in the post-season as in the regular season because there are generally no bad teams in the playoffs to beat up on.

I think in place of "shrinks" you may want to use "chokes" lol

How about the most important stat? Wins and losses.

    Ben 10-4
    Manning 9-11

And Ben has 2 game winning drives and 2 playoff comebacks to Mannings 1 game winning drive and 1 playoff comeback and thats with 6 more playoff games under Mannings belt because he has been playing for 6 more years then Ben, which skewers your stats too by the way.

Anyone who watches football knows Peyton is not the same guy in the postseason. I'll take Ben without even blinking.

My stats aren't skewed because they're based on percentages, which takes into account the different numbers of games played.

Wins and losses are just as much a result of the team around the QB as it is the QB itself. Tim Tebow had a winning record. Rex Grossman made it to the SB. People on here trash Joe Flacco, saying he sucks and the only reason he made it was the team around him. Hell, just look at Ben's performance in his first Superbowl. You can say he doesn't deserve to have 2 SB's, but the reality is that it's a team game, you win and lose as a team, and stats help to paint the picture of a single players performance.

Manning isn't the same player in the playoffs as he is in the regular season. A big part of that is due to the playoffs having only good teams and not bad teams that top QB's beat up on. I wouldn't say that Manning chokes in the playoffs and Ben excels, that's going way too far IMO

So Manning had chop liver around him? He has a losing record in the playoffs.

    Manning

    283 yards per game
    1.6 TD's per game
    1 INT per game

    Ben

    225 yards per game
    1.4 TD's per game
    1.2 INT's per game

Looking at those numbers, I don't know how anyone can say Manning chokes and Ben excels in the playoffs. QB's can't control wins and losses by themselves. Having great WR's around a QB doesn't make a good team. Dallas Clark is, was and always will be an average talent. Indy's defence sucked for a lot of years. Is Manning the same player in the playoffs as he is in the regular season? No, his stats aren't the same at all. But to say he chokes and Ben excels is pretty misleading. Ben has worse numbers in almost every category. It's no secret we've had a very good defence over the years and that significantly helped us win games

They are just numbers. When it matters most Ben can get the job done where Manning cant. He is a choke artist supreme

I couldn't care less about those numbers. Manning had some great Colt teams around him, they flirted with undefeated seasons a number of times, wins and losses are the only playoff stats that matter and Peyton has a .450 winning percentage and Ben has a .714 winning percentage. Everyone knows stats aren't part of Bens game yet he has more SB's then Peyton and more comeback wins then Peyton and more game winning drives then Peyton and has 6 less games to do it then Peyton.

I tell this to people all the time and they look at me like I'm stupid. Also when they won the Super Bowl in 06 he threw 3 tds and 6 picks in the playoffs. They won because their D stepped up and Deion even said "the colts are winning in SPITE of Peyton." When he played here in Knoxville he was exactly the same. Never beat Florida and never won a National Championship and for some odd reason people around worship him like he's Tom Brady or something.
