Agree. We have plenty of mediocre offensive linemen, but very few that have the necessary ability and experience. I don’t think that Lamp has ever shown that he is a guy who would improve that situation.

The only silver lining to our situation is that when it’s “next man up” time, there’s no degradation of our O line’s performance.

Depth...really. Don't you have to have a first team who has talent and can do the job before you worry about depth. I coach high school offensive lineman and the Steelers performance on the o line the last year and this 3 games is the worst I have ever seen in the NFL. We cant get a yard running the ball on first down for gods sake. I dont know if its the coaching or talents but its hard to watch. Ben may be old and washed up but he is running for his life and poor Harris has amazing talents and no holes ever. If we tank and finish like 3 and 14---- we can get a QB in round one and draft all o lineman for other picks because you can stay in games with good blocking and a solid d which we have.

my hope is that haeg gets the full week of practice and okrafor stays on the concussion list. i think this is the better starting group as of now.

3 and 14? Who on our schedule do you think we can beat right now to get 2 more wins? We just impressively lost to the "easiest" team in our division in our own backyard. Can it be done? Maybe, but against who?

The online will get better, looking like it'll be pass blocking before run blocking.

Agree that there is no point bringing in more bodies. Lamp is probably not a significant upgrade over Coward and Finney, if at all. They need starter caliber players

As for the team going 3-14 or worse, the defence will hopefully get healthy and squeak out some ugly low scoring wins where they keep the opponent under 17 points.

I’d accept 3-14 if it puts them in a position to draft their next QB and maybe get a tackle at the top of the second but I don’t think it’s likely.

I question the O line Coaching as well. Other than Munchak we have had under performing O line play for a while. Even when we had good starters they underperformed until Munchak came in. Once he left the Line play has underperformed again. Maybe none of these guys are good, maybe our coaching stinks and we are just witnessing more of the coaching staff being unable to get the best out of players, could be a little of both. But it has been a problem for while.

You do realize that only one of the injured players who missed all or most of the game against the Bengals is out for the season, right?

The defense looks a bit different with T.J. Watt out there, which could happen as soon as this week.

I would have traded Rudolph to the Cowboys for Alarcon and a pick. We have 0 depth at tackle.

If you look at the depth chart. We have Haeg as the 2nd string for RT and LT then Banner who is always hurt.

This OL has all kinds of depth. The problem is all that depth is starting. The current starters are good backups, but lousy starters. Every. Single. One. And the latest savior, Zach Banner, is more of the same.

I unfortunately agree. I have a feeling that within 3 years none of our current starters will be starters sans maybe Green.

Green, Dotson, Moore could become good players. At this moment? Not so much.

If they were brave enough to trim all the fat from the roster they would have the money to fix these issues.

Good as in starters, I agree. I’m not sure that I see Pro Bowl level there. Maybe Dotson, but he’s been a disappointment this season so far.

I don’t think a single one of them is playing starter-caliber ball right now
