If I said in August, the Steelers would be 5-1 in AFC North

Would you take It? Now even going 5-1 may still not get us in the playoffs. How critical was the Arizona, New England and Colts game?

They killed the season obviously, yet again with three very winnable games, two laughably so, daddies hat fell off - AGAIN.

This is Tomlin-ball. It is various approximations of the same narrative every year.

He's had the wheel for 17 years, i've seen this movie too many times now. I had been hoping for years that with enough talent and some decent coaching we could gloss over the Tomlin effect, but we can't, if he had any self-awareness he'd resign.

Agreed. And then losing in back to back weeks to 2 win teams cancels out that amazing accomplishment, unfortunately.

Toss-Up---> Horrible Losses or Mith Trubisky as your starting QB?

Without those losses our starting QB would have been Mitch Trubisky, and we would have lost the last 2 games Mason won. Sorry, but you can't have Mason as your starting QB without those horrible loses forcing Tomlin to play Mason. No way does Tomlin change QBs if the Steelers don't do a face plant in those Gimme Games.

Wow it's pissing me off we could be 5-1 against a strong AFCN and miss Playoffs. Now no way of knowing but I don't see us beating the Bengals with Burrow under center. Browning did a decent job but not against us thankfully. And would we go into Raven land and have a chance if the game was important to them? I know we beat them in the Burgh.

Losing to the Colts isn't that bad considering they might make the playoffs.

The Colts loss away from home was predictable, albeit the way they were stomped was still bad

Cardinals and Pats are playing better since, Cards beat the Eagles yesterday, but you still have to win at least one of those games. No excuse for losing to this pathetic NE team at home and I personally think if Kenny or Mason start that one they win

The steelers are 9-3 this year in non Trubisky game(that Mitch Trubisky didn’t play at least half of the game)

I think with Pickett or Mason starting those two games against New England and Arizona, they don't lose both of those games IMO.

Arizona with Kyler Murray can be a tough game to win, the Browns got lucky and played Arizona when they started a rookie QB, that was an easy shutout win for them.

    Certainly the NE game.

Arizona are better than their record suggests, so that was always going to be a tough one

There were plays to be made at the end of the Patriots game, but Trubisky couldn't get it done, it was 4th and short and he throws it long to Diontae instead that's such a low percentage play .

the D SUCKED vs. NE, first half. 3 successive TD's, have NO CLUE how to cover a TE.

    21 - 0, game over.

and yes, of course, the DUMB 4th down play.

They haven't been able to cover TEs since all the ILBs got injured, and their top 4 safeties are out too.

I try to make myself feel better by telling myself that 2 of the Cardinals wins were against Dallas and Philly

Yes Arizona had Kyler and James Conner back and were starting to get going while Pittsburg were a shambles and trying to figure out the post Canada offence. I’d forgive that one tbh

You have to beat a Zappe led NE at home though, that was a killer loss in the context of trying to make the playoffs. NE didn’t even really want to win it

Yeah, really. I can't believe we're 4 point favorites. I don't care if they are playing backups, we aren't good enough to be favored by that much vs anyone in my opinion. I'd bet that line shrinks to minus 2 points by gametime. Hell, I'm tempted to take the Ravens at that number.

there is no forgiving that one - not at home and with what was is at stake (not the NE game either, but Tomlin has NO CLUE how to beat Belichick)

they had one success.....and TOMLIN decided to give the team the week off. most of them admitted as much later in interviews.

it is a clown show too much of the time.
