He must have been diagnosed with a severe concussion. Other players have been knocked out but played the next week. I'm pretty sure the protocol for more severe concussions is a minimum week - mandatory by league rules.

Bryant better man up and have the game of his life.

Wheaton will be Ben's go to guy on Sunday. Do we activate Sammie Coates for this game?

We still haven't heard anything other than Holtzman's report on the situation. We'll see what comes out today, if anything. I'm still holding out hope the Steelers, or someone close to Brown, leaked that in order to throw fire on Pacman's media tour claiming Brown was faking it.

Does the extra day have any impact on the one week minimum? In other words, wouldn't one week end Saturday evening?

i'd have to say yes. dhb, wheaton and bryant will still be a formidable group. sammie and his speed and being a fairly large target should help. the TE's and RB's could become more go to targets also. punt returns will be interesting.

would they consider bringing up tyler murphy?

He will be activated for sure, if Brown can't Go.

    You would see

Bryant, Wheaton, Hey-Bay, Coates on game day.

I've seen several things posted the past few days that makes me find this hard to believe. For instance, the tweet he posted looking like he was Kanye West with a microphone.

I guess I just would think that if it's that serious, and his availability is in doubt, that he wouldn't be in such a joking mood. And Holtzman's report is the only thing I"ve seen stating he wasn't playing...all the reports are referencing him stating it. I've heard nothing from Pittsburgh media to make me think he's in doubt of playing. Hope to God he is able to!

I think it's a smoke screen but his eyes did look very glossy after the game. Taking pictures and stuff probably didn't help.

I didn't see any timetable or deadlines in the NFL Concussion Protocol or Return-to-Participation policy. The Protocol specifically says calendar-like timetables should not be used for concussion recovery.

The team has to submit a final injury report by 4pm Eastern on Friday. Anyone listed on that report as "Out" or "Doubtful" is very likely not going to see action.

The concern is he had new symptoms pop up on Monday, which can happen with concussions, and that's what led to the report. We just don't know.

If Brown can't go then we will need DHB to step up Big time.. Bryant would become the #1 WR and probably get the bracket coverage and Wheaton would move into the slot putting DHB as the #2 WR playing on the outside and probably getting more 1 on 1 coverage .. If they choose to bracket DHB as well then Wheaton better go off from the slot...

Until it's official from the Steelers ruling him out, I'm actually expecting him to play. Early reports were "he's fine and expects to play" then the whole he's faking it crap started and the story became "He's doubtful" so until I hear for sure, I'm expecting 84 on the field.

A grade 1 concussion won't keep a player out of a game more then 20 minutes. A grade-2 might take 3 days at most to fully recover from. And this I got from a Brain specialist. So no way Brown ain't playing. A gread-3 concussion would Involve a person being knocked completely out for more then 30 minutes....and we know that did not happen to Brown.

http://images.nflplayers.com/mediaResources/lyris/pdfs/NFL_Diagnosis_Mgmt_Concussion.pdf I am extremely concerned about page 6 .b. that gradual return to practice and then part C. cleared by an Individual Neurological Consultant . The way I read this is if he fails a test he is held out of practice and must have more rest and more test before he can be cleared to go back into that Gradual return state ... The Team is probably going to travel on Saturday so the last practice will be Friday so if he can't practice on Wed. then how can he get that gradual time in ? If he can't then he won't be cleared esp. him being a big name player and in a big game ..

I have a bad feeling that AB will not be able to go..

I followed him on snapchat so hopefully it's game time related.

Oh and he looked fine in previous snaps.

the 1st step of the NFL's 5 step Concussion Protocol is:

Rest and recovery. Players may stretch and work on their balance, but they don’t work out beyond that. In addition, they’re advised against spending time on computers, any electronic device and social media. They don’t take part in team meetings.

AB..get your AZZ off of your snapchat....lol

You know - AB might actually pull down two Grammys - one for faking the injury and another for faking his recovery. He'd be right up there with Anthony Perkins in Psycho! Hell of a talent. Now if he could only arrange an interview with El Chapo then we'd be talking Nobel!

If Brown can't go, it may get ugly. I know we want to win this game but we should also do the right thing & prevent Ben from playing. If you got torn ligaments combined with a sprained shoulder & you can't throw the ball with velocity ...I think Landry Jones with a full week of practice should go. With the Broncos defense the deep ball threat is critical to our chances...
